I decided to give this place another chance after a mixed initial experience, hoping for an improvement. However, despite the staff's efforts, the owner’s excessive greed makes the experience unpleasant for potential regulars. He (through his staff who come to ask him what to do) often refuses to seat customers who spend 20/30k, keeping tables empty just in case later arrivals spend even more. Unfortunately, these tables often remain vacant, this kind of attitude doesn’t prompt us to spend more; quite the opposite.
The bar has unusually high minimum spending requirements, rarely seen at this level in Bangkok, yet the service, comfort, and music are all average (at best). The owner seems to have developed an inflated ego from hosting celebrities, but based on the overall reviews, I'm clearly not the only one disappointed. Unless significant changes are made, no amount of star-studded guests will improve this place’s reputation.
Will I return? Honestly, I don't think so. There are so many other places in Bangkok where you're treated better. Even though Rimshot has a nice setting, the rest of the experience is ruined by too many negative aspects.
I hope the owner reads this message and realizes that he is heading in the wrong direction, because once the bar's reputation is set, it will cost him much more to try to turn...
Read moreHad a pretty frustrating experience here. Because it was raining heavily, we called ahead to check if shorts and slippers were okay, and the person on the phone said it wouldn’t be a problem given the weather.
When we arrived, the staff told us slippers weren’t allowed. We explained we’d confirmed over the phone, and after some back-and-forth, they said sliders would be acceptable. So my friend went to change into sliders since his shoes were soaked.
But when he came back, they still wouldn’t let him in — even though other people wearing sliders were being allowed through. It just didn’t make sense, and there was no clear explanation.
It felt like the rules were being made up on the spot. The staff weren’t on the same page, and the whole situation was just poorly handled.
We eventually got inside, but honestly, the atmosphere wasn’t great and didn’t make up for the hassle. Wouldn’t recommend based on...
Read moreRim Bangkok, located at the Ascott Hotel Sathorn, is known as a buzzing club, but my friends warned me it might be packed with a younger crowd. When we arrived at 9:30 PM, it was surprisingly quiet, and they were playing 90s music—teenagers from the 90s, perhaps? 😂🤣 The bartender mentioned that Fridays and Saturdays are typically crowded, but Tuesdays (even Christmas Eve!) are slow. With fewer people around, they had time to chat about cocktails, which was a bonus. The music was a bit loud, so we had to shout to hear each other, but it made for some laughs. 😂 Bottom line: if you’re looking for a lively vibe, go on the weekend. On weekdays, you might enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere and even some friendly conversations...
