Sorrento — Restaurant in Thung Maha Mek Subdistrict

I discovered this restaurant while driving past and was drawn in by its stunning Christmas decorations. Once inside, the ambiance was even more enchanting, with live singers and rare musical instruments creating a festive and romantic atmosphere. It’s truly a wonderful place to celebrate Christmas, surrounded by beautifully decorated Christmas trees.

While I initially called to make a reservation and was informed there was only a course menu available, we were surprised to find that à la carte options were actually offered. Unfortunately, the staff seemed a bit uncoordinated, and when I inquired about modifying the course menu, their response was dismissive and not particularly polite.

The food itself was average, with some dishes having a strong aroma that didn’t quite appeal to me. Additionally, the staff didn’t take our order carefully, which led to some misunderstandings about our preferences.

That said, the Christmas ambiance truly elevated the experience and made it memorable. The cocktails were another highlight — they were delicious, beautifully presented, and added a touch of magic to the evening.

Been here 3 times now. Keep wanting to give them the benefit. The first experience was awesome with awesome food, what you would expect for the price you pay. The second time me and my girlfriend both ordered a meal and only mine came out, the waiter apparently forgot her order. He then came back later a half hour after we waited again to say that they were out of the lasagna he had re-ordered. We didn't get any discount or dessert, just expected to accept it.. Fine, I went back a third time thinking it was a one off, except it wasn't. Fooled me. Me anomy boyfriend both ordered and he ordered the lasagna after I had raved about it forever. They brought him the wrong dish and didn't even offer to exchange it, just said "this one is good too" and expected him to eat it. We paid full price, again no rectification or even an attempt to bring the right meal. Not again. After being a manager of a restaurant for years this is not how one...

I would like to give 2,5 stars but is not possible. I didn’t give 2 because the restaurant is very nice and the service is good, also the presentation of the dishes is fine but the “Italian food”? One soup “pumpkin and truffle oil was good, nothing to say but other soup “truffle soup” good taste but no truffle, mostly a good mushroom soup with truffle fragrance. One pasta was “linguine with pesto and prawns”, an other was “linguine with nduja and king prawns”. Then, any one would cook the prawns in a sauce to create the taste of the dish. Here they grill the prawns and they add to the pasta with pesto or the pasta with tomato and “nduja”, something never seen. Then for who don’t know what is nduja, well is a chilly and pork paste from Calabria, it could be spicy or really spicy, but never Sweet! Last thing, Tiramisù, is made with mascarpone not cream.
