My dining experience at this local Thai restaurant, was thoroughly impressed by the authenticity and quality of the cuisine. The meal began with a zesty Papaya Salad, setting a high standard with its fresh and balanced flavors. The highlight, however, was the Tom Yum Soup, particularly the Tom Yum Kung set, which was richly flavored and perfectly seasoned, accompanied by a fluffy, well-made Thai Omelette. The Fried Prawns were another delight, showcasing a perfect blend of crispiness and succulence.
The ambiance of the restaurant significantly enhanced the dining experience. It offered an ideal blend of traditional Thai and modern comfort, creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. The service was exemplary, contributing to the sense of dining in a trusted and esteemed establishment. Additionally, the portion sizes were generous, ensuring a satisfying and fulfilling meal. This restaurant is a gem for anyone seeking an authentic and memorable Thai...
Read moreMy friends and I visited Chaolay for lunch while we were at MBK after looking through all the options available there, and we were far from disappointed. The food was GREAT! We ordered a few dishes to be shared between us, including the fried sea bass (with sweet and sour sauce, if not mistaken), tom yum soup, cashew chicken and the fried calamari!
The sea bass was big and the sauce was well-balanced in terms of sweetness and sourness. The tom yum was refreshing, though we hoped the ingredients could be a little more, the cashew chicken was crispy although coated in the sauce and the calamari was soft while crispy. The portions were really big for what the dishes were priced at, making it a good deal!
The staff were also really friendly and attentive!
We really enjoyed our meal here, and it definitely should be on your list of restaurants to visit in Bangkok, whether or not you are looking for halal options! Can’t wait to be back...

The restaurant was pretty full inside but had a few vacant tables outside were were seated. We ordered: Tom Yum - really excellent! We requested it to be not spicy and it was followed. Fried fish - very tasty which we all enjoyed Squid - really good, too!! Stur fried chicken - cane w lots of fried garlic and tasted nice, too! Crab seafood fried rice - we had this for sharing and it was just enough for all 5 of us! Most drinks we ordered tasted good. Just a couple things- my mother ordered freah coconut juice which was great however she wanted to est the meat but the staff said that wasn’t possible. I guess they dont have the equipment to scrape the meat off like how all the markets do it? Also, the pineapply juice tasted very sweet and not natural at all, perhaps cos it was mixed w...
