We make it back Nhaginzaginza, second time now this week. There are few tourist now then other years when we come here, but this terrace location doing good local foreigners tourists eat here. We make reservation but we do not get our favorite tables because two other people request spot before us. View is so good here, Blue Mosque Hagia Sophia. Ocean is pretty from here. They have three kitchen staff, so food was slow to came compare Turkish restaurants, but this is Vietnam food we wait for it every time. Both me my friends are addict to beef oxtail an spicy nood soup There was a young bus boy (sorry, we dont think of another name for him) a waiter who was here last time we come. They are nice pay attention. They work hard to bring us food. We order egg roll, spicy nood soup, beef pho bo, green kori (nort Thai style, not Viet), pineapple red curry rice (also Thai). Thai style dish are come from there old menu in Bodrum, customer demand it, so they keep it. This what Yunus share us. We also ordered extra oxtail, soft tasty. We eat oxtail, they tak away empty plate before we take a foto. We loved everything, fresh healthy. Our pho got some cold because we focused eating other plate but waiter soon took it back heat for us. We love this place come back every time we visit Istanbul. We did not see Viktorya this time but her husband Yunus said she will be here next time. Viktorya make this place more fun vietnamca master şef. We highly recommend...
Read morei made a reservation to get a quick pho, showed up 10 minutes before my reservation. First I was told that there was no space inside the restaurant and sit outside. Nice evening, good temperature no problem. I took a seat outside. I waited close to 1 hour for my order and the waiter kept giving me excuses why my soup could not be served. Eventually, he told me that it would be better to cancel my reservation, and he asked me to come back another time. Honestly Ginza Ginza this is way too low even for istanbul restaurants. I call your Turkish number and no one answers, then I make a reservation thru your English line and when I show up you don't serve my soup. I think I see a pattern here
UPDATE: I understand the fact that you might be busy on a Friday night. In that case you should only accept the number of reservations you can handle. I am sorry but making a customer wait for one hour without food is just not acceptable anywhere in the world. No matter how special your food might be. When it comes to cancellation: Would you continue to wait if the waitstaff came to you after one hour of wait and told you that your order might be ready in the next 15-20 minutes. No guarantees. Maybe you should come another time etc. As far as I am concerned you are not prioritizing customers based on when the order was put in but what the order is or who they are. And that's...
Read moreAs a Vietnamese couple who had eaten a lot of Turkish food by the end of our trip, we were really craving something familiar. This seemed to be the only Vietnamese restaurant in Istanbul we could find online.
We ordered the special pho and the Southern-style vermicelli with grilled beef. While we appreciated the effort, it felt like the dishes had been heavily adapted to suit local tastes. The pho broth was quite bland compared to what we’re used to back home, and the vermicelli bowl was mostly made up of raw vegetables (about 3/4 of the bowl was carrot, lettuce, and cabbage). The actual vermicelli and grilled beef made up a very small portion, which didn’t quite reflect how this dish is usually prepared in Vietnam.
We arrived around 20:30, and it seemed many items were already sold out. The fried egg rolls that were supposed to come with the vermicelli bowl were unavailable, but the staff kindly deducted 100 TL from the price, which we appreciated.
The restaurant is located in the busy and touristy Ortaköy area, which made the journey from our place in Taksim quite time-consuming due to traffic. Overall, we think the prices are reasonable given the location, but the food itself was a bit underwhelming for us.
That said, we’re still happy to see Vietnamese cuisine being introduced in Istanbul, and hope the menu continues to improve and...
