We are a couple travelling to Istanbul and we were looking for a nice restaurant for a memorable moment for my birthday. A Turkish friend recommend us to go to 5 Kat wish is a roof top restaurant with terrace. We had a really warm welcome and The spot is really amazing with a great view on the city and the bosphorus and nice decoration. I recommend to go before the sunset to get the change of colors and the view on the bridges with the lights. Unfortunately the service has not been as good as the spot, the guy did not speak English very well, they tried to make us buy things that we did not order, we have been waiting one hour for our appetizer and then we had appetizer with the main meal and some was not warm. They also took our bottle of wine off by mistake. The crisps with the hummus were not crispy at all... Well I really think it is not the same all the time as the waiters are really nice but with a little better collaboration between Kitchen and service it could be an...
Read moreThe worst food I had in Istanbul. Great view, but the food on the airplane to Istanbul was better.. Istanbul is is a great place to for food, and this is last last place where you will find good food. If you are looking for a instagram filler on a rooftop, then you should go here. I ordered the Bulgar with lamb and I must say, the bulgar was ok-isch, but the lamb was tasteless, most likely deep frozen and microwaved heated.. A real crime in Istanbul. My wife ordered the Cambodian seabass .. there was just no way that she could finish that dish. The fish was definitely deep-frozen before. And the whole mix with veggies was just ridiculous. My 12 year old son ordered the grilled chicken and they could not even manage that.. It was tasteless apart from the black burned parts that turned the whole thing into a cardboard taste. In other words, 5kat is an insult to all great chefs and streetfood...
Read moreWe were group of 11 people on a visit from Toronto and decided to look for a classy jazz bar or restaurant with great atmosphere and we came across this place on line so we decided to go there for dinner
We arrived there at 10:30 pm the place from the outside and the road leads to the building is not the best and the place itself is so antique The negative side there was stairs then elevator ( really tiny elevator !! ) then another stairs to get to the restaurant!! Everything else was perfect 👌🏻 The view was phenomenal and food was fanatic except the chicken pasta wasn’t the best but the rest of the food was amazing and the service was really good too Prices on the higher side comparing to other Turkish restaurant but when we compare it to Our Toronto classy restaurant we felt it was normal considering the quality of the food, view , customer service and...
