I was craving breakfast for dinner today so I stopped by as I heard they serve breakfast all day; I was worried because it’s later in the day the food may not be as fresh, but thankfully that was far from the case here! I got the mini breakfast halloumi plate and the 3 cheese gozleme (I believe it was called yigits special). Everything they served me was an absolute delight, including the red paste seen in the picture, which I don’t typically enjoy, but this one had an incredibly tasty flavor that I kept coming back for another dip. The fried halloumi was fantastic and you can’t go wrong with cream and honey. As for my drink I ordered the warm milk with honey even though I hadn’t consumed dairy milk in years, it brought me back to my childhood mornings when my mom would make it for me :) It was much more delicious than I remembered and ultimately completed my entire meal. Everything was just perfect including the fast service and friendly staff greeting me at the door with a smile. Also, I can’t forgo mentioning the MOST thoughtful experience I encountered at any establishment: after consuming all the food I was stuffed and couldn’t finish my warm milk with honey. As I was about to leave, the staff noticed I hadn’t finished the milk and wanted to reimburse me for it. Can you believe it! It utterly warmed my heart and this is what prompted me to write my first ever review. Instead, I offered to take the milk to go and will finish drinking it for breakfast tomorrow :) Thank you again for the amazing service and hope your success is...
Read moreYou must try breakfast here!! I was looking for a place to eat an authentic Turkish breakfast that is not overpriced and this was the best place to have it. First the people working are very attentive and efficient, they gave us water before ordering which was perfect after the walk to there. We ordered a breakfast with menemen cause we heard it’s a must try in Istanbul, it included some veggies, cheese, bread (a lot and they can even refill), jam, some watermelon and tea. Additionally we tried the muhala which was like a cheese fondue and Turkish pancakes filled with potatoes and cheese. Everything was sooo delicious, can not complain about anything. The food comes warm, fresh and is super tasty of course. They bring everything in order and place it nicely for sharing. Besides the place is very pretty with clean toilets. If you look good food and experience,...
Read moreafter doing did a lot of research for homestyle, authentic turkish breakfasts, we decide to come to this place for a special anniversary breakfast — me, my partner and our dog. we walked half an hour here, climbed up all the hills of cihangir, only to be turned away with a single word.
“unfortunately….”
unfortunately, no dogs, is the meaning. unfortunately no dogs - even though they have outdoor seating and could have offered an alternative solution, or, at the very least, walked up to the door and offered a full sentence explanation.
instead, we get turned away from afar, with one word.
i’ve been eating breakfasts with my dog around istanbul for 3 years and this is the first time i’ve experienced this kind of service. regrettable.
the only time we’ve experienced such pet-unfriendly behavior was in konya.
i’m sure the...
