Update on my previous review: Since my last visit in 2022, they have completely renovated the sauna and it looks amazing. They have a lot more cabins now and cleaner toilets and shower area. The cabin beds are a bit narrow for even one person to lie down. The toilets have a squat toilet with a douche facility. Entrance fee was 170lira for locker and 200 lira for cabin. Better to get a cabin if you want some private action. 200 lira for 30 min massage. The masseuse were all very good looking and muscular but I didn't get a massage as wanted to explore. The staff were friendly and not overly pushy to get a massage. They provide a cloth for wrapping around your waist and a towel. They also provided slippers. U can keep valuables in a safe with staff. Then u go have a shower. There is a sauna, leave your slippers outside the sauna. There is a common dark room for some action etc. There is also a smoking room but people tend to smoke wherever, which is annoying. They need to improve the ventilation in the smoking room to extract the one out and keep the door closed. You pay for the services used and drinks etc at the end in cash. I think this is probably the best option for a gay friendly sauna where you can relax and have lots of fun. Usually...
Read moreThe reviews on here are mostly accurate. The cost is 80 TL and a massage is 100 TL, which at the time of this review is about $6 and $8. The massage is 30 minutes and was surprisingly very skilled and good (I had Omar). The clientele is mostly older as the reviews state, but not exclusively. Best times would probably be to go from 3:00 to 8:00 pm or on weekends of maybe Friday night (I went on a thursday). It was dead by closing time at 10:00. It's not as dirty as some reviews say, but it's not a picture of cleanliness either. This could be better. There is just one sauna room, no jacuzzi, some decent showers, and a bunch of cabins. That's it. No other common areas beyond a smoking room. A plus was that is seems they don't allow smoking in the cabin or shower areas. Overall not too bad, but much better such places in western and even...
Read moreFirst time checking out this sauna since whenever I’m in Istanbul I always go to Firuzaga. But this time I had an extended stay in the city so thought I’d visit to compare the two.
They are very different. Cihangir is more like a traditional “mens” sauna. There are private cabins that you can invite someone into join you. There is a dark room and a lounge / drink area. There is a very nice sauna area and plenty of showers. It is MUCH cleaner than other saunas in the city. Looks like they recently did a full remodel.
The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming to a tourist. Great pricing as well.
However, this place didn’t seem to be as busy. At least not on a Monday afternoon, although Firuzaga can still be busy any day of the week.
That said, I’ll definitely be adding this spot into the...
