Firuz Cafe — Restaurant in Beyoğlu

Decided to eat here for breakfast as it is not far from our hotel and the rating here is quite good (sitting in the restaurant as i'm typing this). The interior and the outdoor area are nicely done and it looks like the 'place to be' as it is crowded and a queue is forming outside, I guess the place looks more inviting than the restaurant next door, whose staff kept wooing customers but all in vain. Anyways, the food is way below expectation, I ordered the eggs benedict and it turned out to be fried eggs on top of some soggy white bun, and the hollandaise sauce looked like melted butter, served with a side of fries and no greens. My companion ordered the Firuz toast which is supposed to have some pesto in it, but we tasted none. Many other customers ordered the Aegen Breakfast, and they seem to be enjoying it, so I guess when in Turkey don't order western food? You can check the place out and judge it yourself, but I would recommend to look at other restaurants nearby that serve...

Not an option for tourists. First I asked for a non smoking area so they told me to go inside, the windows were opened so all the smoke came to me, it was like 40 people smoked next to me, it was so Much smoked that I couldn’t breathe and nobody cares, the waitress look at me in a very rude way and the one that took my order couldn’t speak in ensligh. I asked for a salad, it took around 30 minutes, 2 minutes after I ordered, I asked to take away, the smoke was all Around. They brought me the salad to the table, resuming...not a good place, lot of time for a basic salad, the food is very common. I think for the local people is ok, everybody smoke so they don’t have any problem with that but has a very basic menu, better go to other places, there at plenty of options around. I have known this place for a very long time in Cihangir - the creative and hipster quarter of Istanbul full of creatives and digital nomads.
