Small vegan eatery not very far from Galata tower, maybe a 10 mn walk. Go down a flight of stairs and you will find a small place with a 2 tables balcony. Everything is 100% vegan and you can buy soy milk or vegan cheese etc to take away. The service is warm and welcoming and in English. I tried 6 different dishes. If the Turkish pizza and the hummus were a bit disappointing, everything else was tasty and nice. I enjoyed the cake as well. Overall, it's not the best food experience in the world but if you are vegan or have a plant based diet, you will appreciate what is on offer here. Probably best to limit yourself to 4 dishes though, as after my lunch I was so heavy I nearly rolled down the hill. Portions are generous! A good vegan place in Istanbul. The same eatery in London would get 3.5 stars for food quality but this is Turkey and to be able to enjoy good vegan Turkish food here, in Kebap land, is a blessing. If you are vegan do...

Unfortunately I had no such opportunity due to covid restrictions. So I ordered a delivery. I was superfast, about 30 minutes. The food itself was total disappointment.
Lahmacun - smelled and tasted like overroasted bread, was dry and had no taste at all Humus had the same problem as any Turkish humus - no seasoning at all. Musakka left much to be desired, poor taste, have no idea how one can spoil a dish with and eggplant. Spinach manti had no spinach. The had no stuffing al all. Still it was best dish in the set.
Never considered myself as sophisticated vegan gastronomist, but I love tasty dishes. Vegan Istanbul serves great portions of low-priced but totally flavourless food.
Can recommend it if you are hungry and want to save money. Otherwise walk...
Read moreSimple yet amazing mom&pop style restaurant, a hidden affordable gem in expensive Istanbul. We went there twice in our 5-day stay in Istanbul. As of March 2025, filling a plate with 3 options from their food counter was 200lira and 4 options 230lira. We tried: spinach pie, zucchini pie, mashed lentil & fava, seitan stew, chickpea patties, Turkish pasta in tomato sauce, rice-stuffed peppers, soup and baklava (these last 2 are separate). Everything was delicious, specially the mashed fava, pies and vegan baklava - 1 portion of baklava is actually 4 squares, not just 1! The kombucha is made in house, it wasn't overly bubbly or too sweet, just perfect. A must-visit on this side of Istanbul! Prices and food options get updated on their white board outside :) PS you can buy vegan yoghurt or cream cheese from their fridge. We bought the blue tub of yoghurt but texture was like cream cheese so it was delicious when spread...
