As other reviewers have said, it is a hidden gem. You feel like a guest here. The service is fantastic. The owner demonstrates the best aspects of Turkish hospitality. While the breakfast was being served to us, we were also given some tips on how to combine ingredients to discover new flavours and eat a Turkish breakfast the way the locals do. Everything was so delicious. During our week-long stay, the best breakfast was at Limon cafe. Our experience was great because of a combination of both factors: the treatment we received and the food we ate.
Speaking of prices, they are not as high as in nearby cafes. Breakfast for two costs 100 TL (including unlimited cups of tea), and the portions are such that it gets hard to breathe by the end. Breakfast for one person costs 40 TL, and if you want to make a short stop for just a cup of tea, it costs 3 TL and you will be tempted to take one more.
The cafe itself is located near the busy streets of Cihangir, but you can enjoy your meal here in a quiet atmosphere where nothing and no one will...
Read moreWe absolutely loved discovering this hidden gem in the heart of Cihangir, Istanbul. This cozy spot features a charming outdoor terrace where you can enjoy the best Turkish breakfast in a simple, relaxed setting. The place was crowded, so we waited for few minutes to get our table in the indoor terrace. We assumed it’s a family-run business, and the owner, who also serves the food, is incredibly friendly, making our experience truly memorable.
We tried the Mıhlama, a delicious dish made with cheddar cheese, corn flour, and butter, along with sunny-side-up eggs and Turkish pancakes filled with meat and cheese. Everything was paired perfectly with two cups of traditional Turkish tea. To top it off, we indulged in some delightful desserts—cherry jam and homemade quince jam.
It’s the little things here—the warm hospitality, the fresh ingredients, and the authentic flavors—that make all the difference. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a genuine Turkish...
Read moreSolo traveller. Came here via reading online somewhere. So glad I did. 2 days in a row I had their single breakfast which included a few little things, tea, eggs and bread. I was not disappointed at all. All of the food was very tasty, and there’s plenty of it. You won’t leave hungry. I especially loved the stringy looking cheese that comes with it. On the 3rd day I tried the spring roll things full of cheese. If you’re a cheese lover, you should enjoy these. Salty, stretchy cheese in a crispy outer cover. Definitely worth trying. The gözleme was fantastic as well, very tasty. The one thing I loved as well. None of it felt heavy in my stomach. Felt content when I left. It can get busy here, so if you’re up early I recommend coming here early. The staff were also very fast and very efficient. It’s also set back from the street. So usually nice and...
