This little restaurant under my house has truly been a blessing during my recovery. Every day they cook homemade meals prepared by the owner’s mother, and it’s exactly the kind of food my body and soul needed. The taste is so good that you never want to stop eating. Sometimes he even tells me, “Haven’t you ordered too much?” and I smile, because I know I’ll happily keep it for later.
What makes this place unique is not just the food, but the feeling of being at home. We ordered chicken sis, which was 15 lira, as far as we remember, but when we payed our money they charged us of a food which was not even on the menu. Having conversation in english is not possible here so we used our gesture as hard as we can and asked which menu they were charging us. The woman said that it’s not on the menu but we had to pay. Which was very funny since how the HELL can we order a food which is not on the menu when we have a very hard time translating Turkish that’s on the REAL menu. So we payed and the guy who gave me a change almost threw the money on the table. A place that I would never go back in my entire life.
