KARAKÖY AFRODİT RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Beyoğlu

Had a horrid experience here. We were taken to the second floor where people were smoking, ask if we could move one higher they told us there aren't any more even though there clearly is and they were empty. Cool we sat down, 2 waiters a young boy and this older guy. The older guy spoke almost no English, we asked about the dishes as we were interested, he had no interest in telling us things such as grammage of prawns etc. He got angry that we asked questions and told us to just order. The fridge with cool drinks is about 5 steps away from where we sat, he was so unwilling to serve us he sat on his phone for a solid 10 minutes we waited 10 minutes for 2 cans of coke and a water because he was lazy and did not want to work. Absolutely disrespectful waiter. The younger waiter was forced to give us the drinks and the food because the other guy did not care. The food was nothing special, I ordered prawns in butter, the dish was fine however the size for the price was not really that impressive. My family was not impressed with this service. We wanted to leave a tip for the younger waiter but the older guy did not let him he took the bill out the younger guys hand and told him off. Not very impressed with...

We felt like we made an excellent decision choosing this place for dinner out of all the restaurants that lined the port and instead of going for the dinner cruise. The menu reflected the prices (well-priced!), the customer service was outstanding, and the view of the city at night was incredible. We originally wanted fried anchovies, and the lovely man who attended us informed us that the said item was not in season (frozen, not fresh), and pointed us instead to the ones that were in season. He even made arrangements for a certain fish to be cooked as a stew instead of fried, and it was incredible.

We have eaten at several restaurants in Istanbul and have encountered an aggressive owner who obligated us to leave them a 5-star review before paying the bill. This establishment was the entire opposite of that—staff were very friendly, kind and honest. They did not ask us to leave a review. They really know what they could offer and let their customers speak for them. Turkish food is already known for its remarkable flavours, but when served with a heart, it becomes even more outstanding. We recently had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic restaurant overlooking the stunning Bosphorus, and I have to say, it was an unforgettable experience. The food was so good. The flavors were vibrant, and the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, creating a feast for the senses.

The view alone makes this restaurant worth a visit; dining with a panoramic scene of the Bosphorus as the backdrop elevated the entire experience. As the sun set, the city lights reflecting on the water added a magical touch.

Special mention goes to our waiter, Ramo, who provided exemplary service. He was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Ramo also shared some fantastic tips for local tourist spots, which was a thoughtful gesture. He even offered to help us out if we needed anything during our stay, which truly speaks to his warm and generous spirit. Kudos to him for making our experience so memorable!

Overall, if you’re looking for a place with great food, a breathtaking view, friendlyservice, and very reasonable price this restaurant should be at the top of your list. We’ll definitely be back!
