I recently had a very disappointing experience at Karaköy Olimpiyat Restoran.
First of all, the service was incredibly unwelcoming and unprofessional. From the moment I entered, the staff made me feel like I wasn’t welcome. When I ordered a fish wrap, all the waiters gave me judgmental looks, as if my choice was shameful. It felt like they expected me to order the entire menu just because I was dining alone, which was completely unreasonable. To make matters worse, they treated other customers with smiles and respect while showing none of that courtesy toward me.
Even the way they gave me the menu felt dismissive, as if they were forced to do so. I later found out there was a second menu for alcohol, which they didn’t even bother to offer me, adding to the sense that they didn’t care about my experience.
To make matters worse, one waiter even took my wrap away before I was finished eating, which felt both disrespectful and rushed. I also noticed that they treated other customers far better, offering them free desserts while completely ignoring me. It seemed like the staff went out of their way to show favoritism, leaving me feeling excluded and uncomfortable.
On top of that, their behavior was extremely unprofessional when I paid the bill. They scrutinized the money as if they didn’t trust me, which was unnecessary and insulting. There were no smiles, no warm welcomes, and certainly no respect throughout the entire experience.
It also seemed like they don’t treat young people well. I later found similar reviews that mentioned poor treatment of younger guests, which aligns with my experience.
Overall, the lack of respect and care from the entire staff, coupled with the subpar food, made this one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I would not recommend Karaköy Olimpiyat Restoran to anyone and hope the management takes this feedback seriously to improve their standards.
I wish I could give zero stars, but unfortunately, that’s...

Fishes were fresh, and the server also kindly informed me which ones are not as fresh anymore and to refrain from ordering.
Got the anchovies and seabass, they were well cooked, crisp on the outside and buttery inside. 100% loved the food here and would return.
However I am a non-smoker and am very sensitive to 2nd hand smoke. As they allow smoking in the restaurant (like almost every other in Istanbul actually), it was very suffocating the whole time and I just wanted to get out ASAP. Not their fault, but that's a big...
Read moreThe waiter was friendly. Aand thats pretty much everything good I can say about the place. Service was super slow even though the place was half empty. Me and my girlfriend ordered balık dürum and balık ekmek -basically 2 types of fish sandwiches, one in regular hoagie bread and one in flatbread. Simple stuff. And yet, they were dry and bland. What made it worse is that the fish wasn't properly deboned, so it made the experience even worse. The rest of the group we were with ordered similarly bland dishes. Price wise it's fine, but there are definitely better places for the same value. Wouldn't...
