Kirpi Galataport — Restaurant in Beyoğlu

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the KIRPI restaurant on Galata Port Bay, and it was truly an outstanding experience. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the wonderful atmosphere that this place exudes.

The restaurant's location by the bay offers a breathtaking view, especially during sunset. The combination of the serene waters and the beautiful skyline of Istanbul city created a mesmerizing backdrop for our meal. It's the kind of vibrant place that instantly puts you in a happy mood.

Now, let's talk about the food - it was exceptional! The menu was diverse and featured a variety of dishes that catered to different tastes. I had the pleasure of trying some seafood dishes, as well as a steak  entrecôte and they were absolutely delicious. The freshness of the ingredients was evident in every bite, and the flavors were expertly crafted.

The service was impeccable as well. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made excellent recommendations and ensured that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect.

I can't wait to return to this restaurant. The combination of the mesmerizing atmosphere, delectable food, and top-notch service make it a place I'll be coming back to without a doubt. The venue was super nice. Good seating, great music and good vibes. However we were not satisfied at all with the service. We ordered something and received a whole different thing. After some discussion we found out that two dishes have the exact same name on the menu. You should definitely make the wording unique to avoid this misunderstanding in the future. In the end we received the correct dish that we intended to order, and returned the one which was served by mistake. To our surprise both dishes were present on the bill. When we highlighted this to the waiter it was mentioned that only one of the dishes is included in the total sum of the bill. That turned out to be a lie as we simply recalculated it. After all the bill was corrected. We were also surprised about the tip policy in this restaurant, because we were willing to pay tip by card but the minimum tip which was accepted was 100 Lira or 5€ at the time of this writing. As it was way too much we decided not to pay any tip. Our initial willingness to pay tip has generated big attention among the staff, even the manager had to be involved by the waiter to inform us about the restaurant’s tip policy. Galataport is so nice place so the location is amazing, however service is the worst, they didn’t even set us they just said you can go set, it took them maybe 30 mints to come and take our drink order, before dinner we asked for soft drink and tea until we choose our dinner they took ages and few reminders to bring drinks , cola bottle was closed and can’t be opened without opener, again it took ages for them to come and open. Again took them 40 mints to take dinner order, again it took ages for them to bring dinner, my food came in sandwich while what I order was main course not sandwich also food came ice cold, I called the manager to complain she took my food and bring it again little warm after mints!!! She didn’t even bother to change the wrong order they bought!! Food taste was not special at all.. I kept asking for Tabasco but I never get!! Again we had to wait ages for the bill !!
