Read moreUnpleasant Experience at Kiva Galataport
My recent visit to Kiva Galataport left much to be desired. The initial service was marred by misinformation from the door staff regarding seating. Despite being told there was no space upstairs and reservations were needed, a fellow patron; after arguing that he and his guests’ secured an upstairs seat, revealing a misleading seating policy supposedly reserved for alcohol purchases.
The culinary experience was lackluster, with one dish featuring cold, if not frozen, fries. Bringing this to the staff’s attention resulted in a dismissive response, claiming the dish was meant to be warm, not hot, without an attempt to address the issue.
This experience reflects poorly on the Galataport dining scene and raises concerns about Kiva Galataport’s selective seating process. Such practices tarnish the overall dining atmosphere and should be reconsidered for a location like Galataport. I am sharing this feedback with Turkish tourism safety to ensure awareness of the subpar service and misleading practices at Kiva Galataport.
In summary, my visit was unsatisfactory, warranting a one-star rating and prompting a reconsideration of Kiva Galataport’s place in the Galataport...
Read moreStumbled across this fabulous restaurant at Galataport. The meals are small plate / tapas style so it gave me the perfect opportunity to try several dishes as a solo diner! I had bread and olives (from the kitchen), the orange marinated sea bass, buttered liver, watercress and spinach salad, a baked cheese with honey, Antakya crispy pumpkin dessert, and Turkish coffee. And everything was delish!!! That first bite of seabass took my breath away and I literally called my sister in the middle of the meal to extol the virtues of the buttered liver. I literally did not have a bad bite.
On top of being delicious, the meal was reasonably priced! For around 65$ with tip, I left with my belly full and my palette delighted.
The restaurant is waterfront and had indoor and outdoor seating. It was clearly not a local neighborhood hidden treasure, BUT it didn't feel like an overpriced tourist trap either. The servers were great and helpful as we worked through language barriers. I speak no Turkish, but everyone's English was strong enough to explain dishes and provide recommendations.
If you are in the area, definitely worth a...
