OPS CAFE KARAKOY — Restaurant in Beyoğlu

I love the interiors, the menu looks quite nice.. this is a really nice spot. It’s quite busy and has a nice vibe going especially on weekends.

I’ve been several times, because of that. I kept hoping I just caught them at a bad day.

However the food is not terrible but nothing to write home about. The prices are quite steep for that and the service is really lacking to put it kindly. It’s a mix between bordering on rude and total apathy.

If you don’t really care for either of those things and are looking for a good spot to hang on the weekend you might give this a try. I however found that there are cheaper places with better service and food around the area, so I shall be going there...

We just arrived in Istanbul and were hungry as hell. Ops was close by the place we were staying, so we decided to eat there. We ordered two espressos, water, a toast and a sandwich. One of the espressos was spilled, but happens i thought. Then we waited for the food like more than an hour. We asked the staff about the food a couple of times and they just said it will be soon First they brought the toast with a salad. 15 minutes later the burned toasted sandwich arrived with a salad too. Food isn’t served as it explained, just because they have some sort of issues in the kitchen. I ordered a club sandwich which I highly not recommend it. The bread is chewy, contents are not enough. And I even suspected that Heinz Mayo bottles are filled with something else. It wasn’t the same texture and taste it used to. But they said it was Heinz not something else. Maybe I was wrong. It was the worst I have ever eaten. Though they offered me a coffee for free. They are trying their best for sure. Hope they will become better.
