Our last night in Istanbul we went to Paps. The menu , restaurant and cocktails looked lovely.we ordered cocktails, lasagna, pizza and salad to come together.we declined bread given the carb fest ahead. The bread came and my 18 year old daughter said ,no,it is ok we do not need it. We drank our cocktails waiting on our food. After 40 minutes of waiting I asked the waiter where was our food, he said the food was cancelled. He pointed and said your Daughter cancelled it.She said I did not I just said we did not need the bread that had arrived. The finger pointing continued at her, whilst I tried to make sense of the situation. He concurred that I had asked for no bread and I queried why would we have sat for 40 minutes if we were not expecting food ,it was 10pm by this stage .My daughter was totally embarrassed and humiliated by the way he was speaking to her ,she left in tears. He was horrible, rude and condescending. Other diners could see how upset she was. This is an expensive restaurant that we had happily ordered food in. How he behaved was utterly shocking, he did not care in the slightest. Maybe being Irish was his problem . So in summary he should be very ashamed of making a sweet 18 year old girl so upset by finger pointing and horrible behaviour . My regret is that I actually paid for the cocktails . Had this have happened at a restaurant at home the outcome would have been very different...
Read morePaps Italian Istanbul is, without question, the worst restaurant I’ve ever visited. The service was abysmal, and the entire experience was infuriating.
I found hair in my pasta, absolutely disgusting. When I requested a replacement, they simply moved it to another plate, no questions asked, no apologies offered. The manager was utterly unprofessional, refusing to take responsibility and acting like we were the inconvenience.
We reluctantly finished the dish, which thankfully had no further “surprises,” but the experience left a bitter taste. A kind waitress helped translate our complaints, but even after lengthy discussions, the manager grudgingly offered half-filled glasses of prosecco which felt like an insult disguised as an apology.
The prices are above average, yet they couldn’t even bother to bring a menu to our table, we had to fetch it ourselves. This place is a tourist trap with deplorable management and zero regard for customer service. Avoid this place at all costs if you want to save your money and nerves, better dine somewhere where they respect...

For that price one would expect quality + reasonable quantity.. Here, ingredients quality was undeniably there.. but quantity was way too low!
150tl for litterally 3 raviolis?!? Come on! Who can be full with 3 raviolis! You can tell that they must have tought "mmh, let's put high prices AND low quantities, to give it a gastronomic touch and get high margins at the same time! Clever!".
As I was still very hungry, I ordered a nutella pizza... Turns out, with almost no nutella! About half of it had no nutella at all!
Besides, the waiter forgot my order and did not dare to admit it nor apologized.., I saw him quietly rushing to the order desk after I threw a big look at him..
Again, you can tell quality is here which is not so common for many italian restaurants in turkey, hence the two stars and not one. But for that price I believe you can get something just as good, with reasonable quantity and with a honest and...
