Is one of the excellent fish restaurants in Istanbul and In Turkeye in general. A few days ago we were dining at Sait’s Galataport branch along with a group of friends some were just visiting Istanbul for the first time. To our delight, we had an excellent waiter attending to us with a smily and very friendly face not to mention his excellent service and the great suggestions he offered and later the tasty and satisfying appetisers followed by fresh fish. All seemed to be a great evening we were enjoying with our friends until an incident that really destroyed the mood and the evening for us as Istanbul residents as well as for our out of town guests and out of the country friends. The table next to us had finished their dinner and left . It must have been less the 4 or 5 minutes where the manager in charge I believe his name was “ Osman “ scolded our waiter in a harsh and obvious manner to the best of my understanding is that the vacated next table wasn’t ready for the next customer. The manner, his voice and the whole scene was totally unacceptable to any human being which was in all honesty a mood destroyer for us as well as for the tables next to us . I can understand where expecting best service and attention to customers for such a reputable restaurant like Sait is a must but unfortunately the manager’s behaviour and the way he handled such a situation is sub human needles to say unwarranted given the fact that it was only less than 4 or five minutes delay in preparing the vacated table . Clearly the waiter sucked it up and continued to work silently. I’m certain that he had one of the worst evenings or work experience in his life . We all felt bad and unfortunately our mood and enjoyment had changed.
I thought my humble duty as a regular customer is to share such an incident hoping the chain management will rectify and take measures to avoid such mishaps in the future. We still enjoy going to this restaurant but certainly if such an incident repeated we will refrain from going there again.

Read moreOne of the worst dinning experience in Istanbul that I will never repeat. The waiters were neither friendly nor welcoming. The waiter did not provide us with a menu. The first thing he asked us to do is to go to the fish bed table to choose and salad fridge. We ordered one type of salad but they did not serve it to us. We reminded them about it without success. I noticed a hair in one salad and asked the waiter to change. He simply changed it without apologising for this. We ordered two plates of desserts, they brought us three. When we asked for the bill, we found out that it was very high , more than 10,000 TL for six people. They have counted the salad plate that they have never brought.. We asked them to remove it. The waiter reluctantly changed it without noticing the difference in the price. When I gave the waiter a tip of 100 TL that he even did not deserve, he was looking at it resentfully as if he was screening it to check whether it was real or fake. He took it without saying thank you. When we address our concern to our hotel concierge, he called them. Everything was amazing. They have the best view of the bosphorus without a doubt. The service was very friendly. Definitely stand up and look at the appetizer display. That way you have a better idea and are able to choose what you want. The octopus carpaccio is good but small, they could make it larger. The anchovies were amazing the artichoke hearts were good, and the spreads did not disappoint. As for the main dishes, we ordered langoustines by the kilo, giant tiger shrimp- the biggest I have ever seen and Seabass by the kilo as well, they prepare the langoustines, with garlic and white wine and a bit of red pepper and they were spectacular. The shrimp was prepared with garlic and butter and the sea bass was on the grill , all three dishes were perfectly prepared tasty fresh and the quality superb.
