We were headed for Terrace 41; right across the road we saw Symbol and decided to try it out instead. There were several great things:

Great Space and View: They escorted us through a charming old school elevator to the third storey where the view was wonderful - street below, the city's homes on slanted ground and the ocean, along with the beautiful Istanbul coastal skyline. They had both outdoor space with heaters, and indoor with glass windows. It was not crowded (Thursday evening) and we had privacy. As the sun set, the view became even more beautiful at night, with the entire skyline lighting up. We moved indoors when it got too cold after dark.

Great Location: Symbol is in a small quiet lane off the very busy and bustling Taksim Istiklal shopping and food street. So you have everything closeby.

Great Service: Burhan, Buraq and Sinan entertained and obliged our many requests. They were patient and answered our many questions about menu and shisha, using google translate where needed! Burhan recommended us a good shisha flavour. They were always closeby to make sure they were available when we needed anything.

Great Food: We had had Turkish food for a week and were looking for something a little different in flavour. Their Carbonara and Chicken In Kori Sauce were both absolutely delicious, and served freshly made and piping hot, in lovely presentation.

Great Shisha: Burhan made an excellent Grape Mint shisha and was constantly refreshing our coal supply before we asked.

All in all a wonderful experience.

Additional Info: Symbol serves a wide range of alcohol. Menu includes breakfast items, starters and mains like crepes, cheese platters, sandwiches, burgers, salads, pastas, pizzas and Turkish kofte. Let’s start with the service, in my experience in was kind and friendly, the service was professional and very helpful, the vibes was immaculate from music choice to the scenery at the terrace, you can see Galata Tower plus Karakoy and Eminonu.

Further more the coffee taste was made to perfection and I’m a very picky person, the chairs and tables to the decor was modern and comfortable, the view is breathtaking and the music is calm and relaxing if you want positive energy this is the place.

Fortune telling through tarot and coffee reading was accurate and helpful in advice, the person I was very helpful bubbly lady who’s energy I felt was positive and beautiful.

Like some other reviews, over priced, wirh excellent views. Beware the hidden 20% service charge, which is the highest we have experienced in a week of dining in all sorts of restaurants around this town

Agreed that while the fortune tellers are kind, they speak no English and Google translate was the only means of communication. That was interesting and fun, but I assume the nuance was lost in there. Hard to expect English tho
