I ate out a lot in the 3 weeks I was in Turkey and didn't have a bad meal once. Whilst this wasn't terrible, this was definitely my worst experience of the lot.

The restaurant was pretty much full, so we were enticed in thinking we must be on to a good thing. The owner (I think he was the owner as he stood outside and dismissively watched over everyone and wore a different coloured shirt to everyone else) looked at us fairly glumly and showed us in. He couldn't have cared less about us being there. A good start I thought. We went over to the display area of the restaurant, to see all the fish and meze available and thought we would give it a go. We were rushed to a table by a frantic waiter, menus slammed down on the table in front of us. Not just the owner with the surly attitude it appears.

Having sussed out how the process works, we ordered a couple of meze and a seabass to share.

Whilst the meze are priced up, there are no prices for any of the fresh fish. This is of course understandable, as the catch varies day by day and so does the weight of the fish. But, it's not listed anywhere in the restaurant at all. Not on a chalkboard, not by the actual display of the fish. You could be paying anything. And you would be none the wiser until the bill comes.

The food was actually quite nice. The fish was cooked well, and the meze were enjoyable. Nothing spectacular, but enjoyable. We had a bottle of house wine with the meal too, which was pricey, but OK.

The thing that really bugged me here though, was the service. Our main courses were served to us whilst our waiter talked to another table. He had his back to us the entire time he was putting down the plates. Our wine was poured so aggressively by one of the waiters that large amounts spilled on to the table. Not once did anyone come over to ask if everything was OK, we kept having to try and get their attention to ask for basic things like napkins, drinks orders etc. It was really poor.

For two meze, one bottle of house wine and one seabass we paid almost £60. For Turkey, with the current exchange rate, it was pricey. I wouldn't have minded paying that if the food was coupled with good service, but it wasn't. The service was absolutely abysmal.

There are so many restaurants on the Bodrum marina strip, you can definitely do better than here. Have a look at other reviews before being lulled in by the crowds or a blog online. It really wasn't...

Absolute CROOKS !!! TOURISTS BEWARE !!

Myself and My wife attended this restaurant based on our hotel recommendation. Was advised that all the locals go here and the quality of food is amazing.

As soon as we arrived we were greeted well and a table was found quickly. My assumption at this stage is that we will be provided with a menu and take our time in choosing the relevant courses.

After 15 min no menu yet, I requested a menu and to my horror the waiter said " we are creating the menu for you".... My wife at this stage said there is something not right as this is a very busy tourist area and how is it possible that no menu is at the ready !!

When the menu arrived it sadly showed that prices for the locals were rubbed out and new prices written over for us silly tourists..... when asked why new prices have been written over they said its only an extra few liras !! not sure where to go from here thought I would be patient and give them a chance..... but when the bread arrived at the table we noticed that it was just cheap toasted bread....the locals were served different quality seeded buns..... basically avoid...

Bodrum seafood and meze restaurant with nice outdoor seating in a bustling area close to the marina. We liked the idea of ordering a few appetizers to share. Waiter brought us to the meze display where another waiter took the time to describe each dish on display. We decided on the roasted eggplant paste, artichokes, olives & walnut, greek salad, fried calamari and grilled octopus. I never had octopus so tender. Our service was excellent and the vibe was energetic without being loud. Good value for the area. Thanks again to our friendly server who was always around to service our needs...
