MYK Denizden Bodrum — Restaurant in Bodrum

We, my spouse and I, had the opportunity to dine at the MYK restaurant last night. The Ambiance and decor were beautiful. Service was very effective and impressive.Chef Mehmet is experienced, friendly and knowledgeable. We liked that he approached every table, spoke to the guests, and gave detailed information about the menu. We ordered our cocktails as soon as we arrived to the restaurant. Unfortunately our cocktails arrived late while we were enjoying our main dish.Surprisingly one of the ingredient, mineral water, to prepare the cocktails was charged separately. We never had this experience before. The ‘sakız octopus’ was bland with excessive butter and heavy cream. Salmon pastirma was salty. Our over all experience was good, however. Just a nightmare… The dishes were beautiful but didn’t taste good . 🐙I can say I had the worst octopus dish ever when I asked the waiter he didn’t know English and I said it’s very gummy, he replied with a big smile: thank you sir. :) we were shocked and I said sorry but it wasn’t a compliment . Risotto is my fav dish of all time, but when I ordered it wasn’t risotto it just taste like milk and boiled rice. That turned my night into worst night . They just wanna charge people. The place was so nice but the manager was so rude and disrespectful. They offered us glass of water , but the glass smelled like oysters. There was a client vomiting because of bad smells.

I was not expecting so many bad experiences at one night at such a restaurant...

9 Eylül Salı günü 6 kişilik bir grupla Denizden’de akşam yemeğine gittik. Yemeğimizin en lezzetli deneyimi “Acı Hayat” isimli kokteyli oldu. Eğer acılı kokteylleri seviyorsanız mutlaka tavsiye ederim. Yemeklerden surf ve törf menüsünden grubumuzdan iki kişi kuzu ve karides ikilisini seçti. Yufkası gerçekten çok sertti, elde taze yapılmış olduğuna dair hiç bir emaresi yoktu- marketten hazır alınmış olduğunu düşündük. Eşimin ısmarladığı ve benim de tattığım “gece” yemeğinin görünüşü şıktı ama çok yavandı, sanırım patlıcan kurusunun tatsız tutsuz ve içindeki et ve patates püresine oranla aşırı büyük olmasından kaynaklanıyordu. Diğer iki kişi deniz ürünlü risotta yedi. Onun da deniz ürünleri minimum miktardaydı ve pirinçleri bir tık sert kalmıştı. İki çeşit ön sıcak ısmarlamıştık çii- karides ve yapraklı midye. Yapraklar sert ve kuru olduğundan yenmiyordu ama iç dolgusu lezzetliydi. Çii- karides çiğ böreği anımsatmakta başarılıydı ama tekrar ısmarlamak isteyeceğiniz türde üst bir lezzetden yoksundu. Servis yapan arkadaş Denizden gibi şık olması beklenen bir restoran servisine yakışmayan bir şekilde iki adet iştah açıcının grubumuza az geleceği konusunda aşırı uyarı yaptı. Faturayı yükseltme taktiklerinin içinde ön ikrama (ufak peynir topları ve ekmek) 900 TL kesilmesi ve restoranın ücretsiz park yeri temin etmemesi de dahildi. Böyle bir restoranın 200-300 TL lik park yeri (hemen restoranın yanındaki) masrafını karşılamasını beklerdik. Bir de randevu yaptırdığınızda banka hesabınızdan kişi başına 1000TL ön ödeme yapmanızı talep ediyorlar. Anlaşılır bir durum (gerçi bizden başka sadece 5 müşteri daha vardı o akşam) ama ben kredi kartımı kullanmak isterdim, buna imkan vermediler.
