I arrived in Istanbul and was looking for a restaurant to have my first meal and I happened to come across this restaurant by chance. They are located beneath Fatih area, easy to locate yet far from crowded places that makes the restaurant more cozy and serene feeling like a home which strikes me the most.
I was welcomed by their friendly staff, all smiling and willing to help. The menu has great selection of dishes. As I was new in the city, the Chef recommended some dishes to me and it was beyond my expectation! The foods were full of flavours and worth every bite, not to mention the quality of meat were very impressive too! From the starter to the dessert, the quality and tastes of everything was outstanding.
Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant. Also, hats off to all the staff. Their customer service is superb by ensuring customer’s satisfaction. A must-try restaurant and definitely a...
Read moreChef Ramo is a gem. We first met him when we got slightly lost on our way back to our hotel and stopped in front of his restaurant to get our bearings. He spends much of his time standing in front of the other shop run by him and his bother (sells teas and sweets) across from the restaurant. He offered to help us out and gave us directions but also offered to serve us tea. Yes,he is trying to sell something but we were aware of that. He sat down with us and we had a lovely chat about a range of topics. He was passionate about his food. We decided to eat there that evening and had a wonderful meal. He made a point of coming to check how things were for us a couple of times. We were not rushed and people-watched as we sipped our tea and coffee. A most enjoyable experience. Highly...
Read moreThis gem of a restaurant is in Sirkeçi - very close to the three famous mosques and to the bridge over the Bosphorus. It looks very traditional and yet inside is clean and so comfy with a touch of poshness! The atmosphere is very relaxing and the staff work with dedication and are friendly and very welcoming. The food was fresh, delicious - I had çorba with grilled chicken in a roll, - and the prices were very reasonable. Thoroughly recommend this place for a quick lunch before you walk around Hagia Sofia or some other activity or for a sumptuous dinner! I am sure am going to return here again!
Çorba is a Turkish soup made with lentils with a texture of English soups - heart-warming and delish. This one gets...
