Safi Roof Lounge Terrace — Restaurant in Fatih

A little surprised by the high ratings.

The owner put his hand In our bag of pistachios and took some without asking, and said “even if you say no i still take pistachios”, and took a fistful of them and ate them. It was meant as a joke but it was off putting because he actually did take some and eat them…

Service was really slow and not worth the wait. We ordered the mixed pizza, fries and some beer. The mixed pizza was okay but not worth 650Lt.

When it came time to pay, after being promised that the beer would be free if we eat, my 650Lt pizza was considered food, and if the servers pointed to his head and said “you need to think, pizza is not food it’s considered appetizer” ?

It started raining lightly and there wasn’t adequate cover so we had to change seats which was inconvenient.

The owner tries to ensure we have a good time but tonight...

We learned about this restaurant because the concierge at the hotel we were staying at (Yasmak Sultan) highly recommended it to us, and we cannot thank them enough! The food, service, and ambiance are spectacular. My parents and I had the grilled chicken, beef steak, and meat doner. The meat was so flavorful and juicy, and we left feeling so full every time. They even gave us complimentary baklava and watermelon as dessert! The restaurant is on a rooftop lounge with wonderful views of the city, and the staff is so attentive. They even offer to walk with you from the hotel to the restaurant, and escort you up the elevator! We came here three separate times for dinner during our stay in Istanbul because we loved it so much, and would come again a million more times. Highly recommend...

Turist trap? Very mixed feelings about this place. Nice view of the park. Large portion meal, and accommodating waiter, as most meals seems to be sharing platers for multiple people, but he told me they could make a smaller portion for one person. But once the check came, I was charged 2/3 of the price of 2 persons, and on top, an additional charge, as I was ordering something "of the menu". Not fair. How was the food? Minced meat was very good, and same for one of the chicken pieces. The lamp chop tasted wolly, the beef and one of the chicken pieces was overcooked, so dry. Total price 1930 Lira for one person. Half price would have been okay, but this was definitely...
