The Han restaurant is the Turkish oriental designed restaurant, offering various Turkish oriental dishes. We tried something different and we were satisfied with taste of: (a) stuffed wine leafs, (b) gozleme with spinac and feta, and ,(c) chicken Han special. The restaurant staff is kind and atmosphere is really nice.
It is little bit more crowded (more specifically overcrowded) than it should be during the pandemic period of Covid-19, particularly becouse it has only inside dining seating places.Toilets are clean, and the waiters are in generaly appropriately wearing the protective masks. My suggestion is that there is a need for further strengthing the protective measures against Covid-19.
Becouse it was more crowded than it should be during the pandemic period, with only inside available seating places, I am forced to give only 2 stars.
Implementing a strong preventive measures against Covid-19 for the restaurants should be on the highest priority, particularly for those who are offering only inside seating...
Read moreThe Han Balkava offers a truly unique and welcoming experience. The atmosphere is fantastic, with a calm and relaxed vibe that makes you feel right at home. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and the service was impressively quick.
One of the highlights is the seating options – you can either sit traditionally on chairs or enjoy the authentic ‘yer sofrasi’ experience by sitting on the floor, which adds a cultural touch to the evening.
The food was absolutely delicious, with a great variety of dishes to choose from. Each dish was beautifully presented, full of flavor, and clearly prepared with care. However, one thing to note is that a 10% service charge is added to the final bill. It is mentioned in the menu, but I missed it, so be sure to keep an eye on that when calculating your total.
The ambiance, paired with the cozy decor, made it a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a meal. Overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for amazing food, friendly service, and a unique...
Read moreFun ambiance and decor but without good food to match. When I first ate here a few years ago it was a superb experience, but on my latest visit the quality had fallen so much as to make the place unrecognizable. It went from a delicious restaurant to a complete tourist trap. AVOID IT! If you care to know the details, the mezze we ordered all lacked flavor (how can a place in Istanbul have ban hummus?!) and came with cheap white baguette style bread rather than a flat bread (lavash costs extra?!), the mushroom saffron rice barely had any rice and tasted of anything but saffron. The mushrooms were also swimming in a creamy mayonnaise type sauce that was disgusting and not mentioned or shown in the menu description. My stomach has not stopped feeling unwell since that sauce. Service was curt though efficient. However, overall this place now serves the worst quality food for an unreasonable price tag. If you’re looking for tasty food in Istanbul, this is not the...
