Fethiye Balık Ekmek — Restaurant in Fethiye

After a long day of walking through the town today, we sat down on the bus stop on the other side of the road to decide what to eat when my wife asked me for a fish sandwich. I wasn’t really expecting to find it so quickly but I was about to tell her that most places are closed and it’ll be nearly impossible when I saw the sign in front of me: Balik Ekmek - “fish sandwich”.

We decided to give this place a try since we hadn’t had food for the whole day and got really hungry.

When we walked up they first offered us some tea to warm up a little, since it was getting chilly outside and then explained us the menu, which is basically fish and mussels with several different sides.

We ordered the standard Mezgit sandwich that comes with some “turshu” on the side and the fried midye. Sitting on a bench next to the sea, I could t imagine that a fish sandwich can be so delicious under pandemic circumstances. The mezgit sandwich has a house made sauce and it is amazing. We were so happy with the place that we immediately decided to go try the rest of the menu starting tomorrow.

If you ever need to decide a place to eat in Fethiye, this is the place to go. The restaurant is located beside the harbour and it's open air concept makes meals a very scenic one. Menu is in the picture.

A MUST ORDER is the Fried Mussels Portion. The Mussels are deep fried to a close perfection and their meaty insides goes very well with condiments. I enjoyed this dish together with a Soda and hot chocolate.

One of the best local fast food places I discovered in Fethiye. Great selection of all kinds of toasts (appetizers) with small fried fish. The cafe is open air, near the seaport. Plenty of seating so you don't have to wait for a table to be free. Stunning and atmospheric views all around. Fast service and delicious food. I like to stop here often...
