Galata Junior Restaurant — Restaurant in Istanbul

It was certainly a challenge deciding which was the best seafood restaurant to go into on the Galata bridge after being stopped by every restauranteur on the bridge but we settled for this on on negotiation of a 20% discount when we went in.

Initially the menu is a little overwhelming with the many seafood options on the pages and we were tempted by the offer of Seabass or Lobster. We decided however to go instead for Seabass on a tile and a mixed fish platter.

When the main dishes arrived we thought we had made a serious mistake with the mixed fish as the platter was quite frankly gigantic! there was enough fish to feed 4 people easily. Had we read the menu wrongly? perhaps it was a minimum for 2? It turns out in the end it was a single dish! All this (remembering it was off season) 2 starters and cocktails came to an amazing price after conversion.

As tourists exploring Istanbul, we had the pleasure of dining at this charming restaurant—and what a memorable experience it was. We ordered a plate of assorted fish and a baked fish in salt. The highlight? Without a doubt, the salted fish—juicy, flavorful, and simply out of this world. Truly a must-try.

Our server, Saeed, an Iranian gentleman, was incredibly friendly and attentive. He took our order with precision and genuine warmth, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

Cleanliness was clearly a priority here. The restaurant, including the washroom, was spotless—something we always appreciate when dining out.

We were 5 persons and we went there for a drink. The service was really open and friendly. They had a live singer and people were dancing. So the atmosphere was perfect and we ordered 19 shots in total. When we asked for the bill they brought us a bill of 360€!!!! They charged 12€ per shot like we had ordered bottles of alcohol rather than shots since no price for shots was included in the menu. We felt like they thought that as tourists they can charge whatever they want. Really disappointed would...
