I went here three times in 24 hours as I only discovered it 24 hours before leaving Kas! Awesome little bakery. I didn’t try their eponymous simit but did try the izmir bombasi (ganache galore!), çörek and both a sweet and a savoury scone (not sure what they were actually called but very much reminded me of an excellent NZ scone).
The bombasi was fantastic, not many chocolatey things to be found in Türkiye. It was like a ferrero rocher once you’ve nibbled the solid chocolate away, but the size of your palm and encased in a thin pastry instead of wafer. Even a few chocolate chunks in the ganache to add some bite!
The orange and grape ‘scone’ was also fantastic. I don’t know when it was baked but I bought it at the very end of the day as they were closing, and it tasted uber fresh. The outside was perfectly crunchy while the inside was light and fluffy and had a great crumb. Excellent ratio of zingy oranges and grapes to crunchy sugar topping. Like a date and orange scone but probably better than even those from Wānaka’s Federal.
The savoury scone was dill with nigella seeds on top and was stuffed with that kind of mild feta cheese. Perfect crunch/soft textures again.
Have only had one bite of the çörek and it looked so good that an older Turkish couple sitting at the same table as me at the bus station asked (via gestures) where I got it from.
Delicious, fresh, variety! Everything that I got was 15-20 lira per item. Please never leave Simitçim, I’ll be back as...
Read moreRun by enthusiastic and polite family, this management serves delicious Turkish Bagel (Simit) and various pastries (börek). My most favorite was Peynirli Börek (Cheese pastry). You can also find minced beef (Kıymalı) and Roasted Eggplant (Közlenmiş Patlıcanlı).
You can also find Açma (Round puff pastry) varieties, which are very good if they are fresh out of oven.
They also serve side things like boiled eggs, olives, chesse and many other things.
They have croissant but I couldn't get a chance to try, although I went here for 6 days in a row.
You won't regret trying this bakery if you choose to have your breakfast early.
They have tables, but many people just grab things...

If you don't know what to choose, here are 2 recommendations: you need to try their chocolate pastries, called İzmir Bomb Kurabiye (İzmir bombası), a real Turkish delight.
It's a little round pastry TURBO filled with nutella-like chocolate. An absolute delight. Nice little crust and tons of creamy chocolate inside. Only 15 TL for one (as of March 2023).
The other cheese pastry was really good too and cost 25 TL. It's crispy and has cheese inside, and tasted really good....
