we go to this place at least once a month and i assure you that the quality keeps going down. last time was a big disappointment for us. there is no AC inside, they just put 2 fans and it is literally so humid, so hard to breathe. we always order same things when we go so we ordered tteokbokki, gimbap, sun yang chicken, kimchi and hotdog. one of the things i never liked about this place is that they always bring your order separately and you can't enjoy all of your food at the same time. this time we got rose tteokbokki and they literally put TWO sausages in it, also it was insanely dense and not cooked enough. it was the worst gimbap i ever ate in my life, the seaweed and the fillings were not fresh at all and you had to chew so much to swallow it. it was like they prepared it yesterday. chicken was also not cooked well. kimchi tasted nothing like kimchi. we have waited 45 minutes to eat these tasteless food and we also saw other customers had to wait for so long to get their order. if i was someone who's trying korean food for the first time and ate this food, i would never eat korean food again. if this place keeps humiliating korean cuisine like this, they will ruin the reputation. we always felt so excited going to this place to eat the food we are craving but this time was a huge disappointment and we are definitely not going back...
Read moreI had lunch here and ordered/requested to have two dishes to be vegan (by the time I dined here there were limited vegan options): kimbab and bibimbab.
As both dishes were modified/adapted versions to accommodate to my vegan needs, my review is based on these adapted versions:
Kimbab: they removed the sausage and I think egg, so it was left with spinach, daikon and carrots. The portion of the filling vs the rice was disappointing. There was slightly more rice than filling. Taste-wise, it was just ok.
Bibimbab: they removed the meat (I think) and egg, and it was left with bell peppers, zucchini, carrots, spinach, onion, seaweed and spicy gochujang sauce. The rice wasn't even warm. It was lukewarm. The sauce was just spicy but lacked other flavours.
Prior to dining at a Korean restaurant in Istanbul, I was told not to have much expectations as Korean food is normally subpar here, and I agree. I was told this was the "best" place to have kimbab in Istanbul, and so I'm assuming other places will bring more disappointment
I came here on a weekend, and as soon as it opened, the restaurant slowly became busy with customers dining in. There were seating indoors and "outdoors" space. Menu is...
