This hidden gem is just a short walk uphill through the shopping center across from the port. At first, it feels like you’re headed up a quiet street with no shops, but keep going—you’re only about 100 feet from the last shop on the right. The menu has accurate pictures, so you know what to expect.
The owners are a lovely couple—he’s German, and she’s Italian. The husband used to own a place in Berlin and moved here to retire and cook with his wife. They speak little English, but they go out of their way to make sure you order exactly what you want. The husband speaks fluent German, so luckily, I could communicate (though my German is mostly limited to food, beer, words used during sex, and the occasional political banter 🙂↔️).
The restaurant offers a unique blend of German, Italian, and Mexican cuisine, all done exceptionally well. If you’re looking for something different from kebabs and Turkish fare, this is your spot. The spicy dish had a nice bite, around a 5 on the heat scale—not too intense but still flavorful.
We also had a German schnitzel with a broccoli-mushroom herb cream sauce, served with fries and a tomato salad. The food was fresh and made to order, so be aware it may take a little time if you’re in a large group.
If we had more time, we’d gladly try the entire menu. This place is a true culinary experience, and I highly recommend it! Seriously the beef Italian dish we had...
