Read moreThe restaurant looks authentic from the outside and has a cosy atmosphere. We ordered one portion of döner and one portion of mercimek soup (only soup available). The restaurant only has a few options on its menu, which usually is a good sign, as it may signify that they specialize in their dishes. The prices are relatively high, especially when you compare it to the surrounding restaurants and standard prices of Turkish restaurants. The price of the soup was 65 tl, meaning that it was €3,25, while it was nothing special. You can easily get the same soup somewhere else for a third of the price. The taste was nothing special. The döner was priced at 150 tl , which is roughly €7,50. This is also expensive, especially when you compare it to surrounding options, costing around 40-60tl. The taste of the meat was alright to good, but consisted of a lot of fat. Because they weigh their portions, this might raise some eyebrows as the portion consists of 1/3 fat. As we were sitting, waiting on our food, the reasoning behind the prices became clear as daylight. Most customers were small groups of tours consisting of a few people (all inclusive residents). These customers received more attention and also more products, which were not on the menu. All in all, nothing special and overpriced. Would not...
Read moreThis place was recommended to me by the proprietor at another local restaurant when I asked for a place that would have the famous local pumpkin dessert, even out of season. He said his family go here when they want kebabs. Admittedly, the restaurant was full of what seemed to be local Turkish people. Which is why it was even more confusing when the food was utterly mediocre. The piyaz was not even half as good as I had other places (like Dikkat Et). The kebab was so flavorless it required salt and the bread underneath was absolutely drenched in oil. The kofte was a really small portion. Even the service was not very good. The only redeeming quality was, in fact, the pumpkin dessert which was excellent. Definitely not worth everything else, though. There are other, much better...
