This place is nothing but a web of lies and false advertising, with a rude staff that couldn’t care less about their guests.
Housekeeping, which was advertised as daily, was only done every other day. We had to constantly request clean towels and basic room maintenance, which is unacceptable for a hotel that claims to offer daily housekeeping.
The list of amenities advertised that don’t actually exist is endless. They promised a free coffee machine, laundry service, packed lunches, room service, Turkish bath/hamam, key card access, 24-hour security guard, an on-site mini-market, an ATM, and a sun terrace. NONE of these were available during our stay. The hotel blatantly lies about its offerings just to lure guests in, and it’s incredibly frustrating to feel scammed like this.
The rooms were supposed to be soundproof, but that was another lie. We could hear every noise from the neighboring rooms and hallway, making it impossible to relax. On top of this, the hotel falsely claims to be a non-smoking property, yet smoking was allowed on the terrace, which made it impossible to have breakfast without inhaling secondhand smoke.
When we raised these issues with the receptionist, he was rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. Instead of addressing our concerns, he brushed us off like we were the problem. We spoke to another staff member, who admitted that they’ve had several complaints about the first receptionist’s attitude, proving this is a recurring issue that management refuses to fix.
On most days the bread served at breakfast was old and uneatable, and to make matters worse, the staff had the nerve to limit the amount of eggs we could eat at the buffet to one per person!
The quality of the room was dreadful. The curtains didn't fit the window, the bathroom door had a massive gap at the bottom which I could fit my arm under, the bedsheets had holes in them and the toilet seat was broke so it kept falling off when using it. The worst experience we had was when our bathroom door broke, which meant we were locked out overnight and had to use the gross toilet on the roof. It took two employees about 15 minutes to finally open the bathroom and the receptionist was rude to us throughout this.
The behaviour of the receptionist throughout our stay was without a doubt the worst part that he even made my girlfriend cry after he yelled at her when she asked for the bathroom door to be fixed.
This was, without a doubt, the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Hotel Twenty is a scam that falsely advertises its services and amenities while employing some of the rudest staff imaginable. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
UPDATE
This is a reply to Hotel Twenty's reply.
I'm honestly disappointed by your response. I would have nothing to gain by claiming so called "inaccuracies" or "false accusations", as I've not requested a refund and I don't get any pleasure from writing reviews about bad experiences. l was just writing an honest account of the experience my girlfriend and myself had, since we were not able to have a sensible conversation with the management during our stay.
I can see from your reply that you have no intention of addressing any of the concerns I've raised in my original review.
P.s. Don't worry, I think I'll be able to refrain from booking...
Read moreMy stay at Hotel Twenty was an absolute disaster from beginning to end, with several issues that made it the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.
One of the biggest problem was the bathroom door. One morning, it got stuck, and even two staff members couldn’t open it. This meant I had to use the rooftop toilet, which was filthy because housekeeping only comes every other day due to "staff shortages," despite what’s advertised online. I had to clean urine off the hotel's toilet's seat myself. When they finally got the bathroom door open, they told us we couldn’t close it from the outside again because the door is broken. When I complained about how unacceptable this was, the receptionist yelled at me, saying he was too busy, and then left.
Another major issue was the lack of soundproofing. Although the website claims the rooms are soundproof, we could hear everything—noise from neighboring rooms, the hallway, outside, and even from the roof. During a power outage, I couldn’t sleep because I could hear other guests flipping their light switches on and off. The noise was constant and made it impossible to relax.
The service was equally terrible. Housekeeping, which was supposed to be daily, only happened every other day. We constantly had to request for simple things like toilet paper and body wash. The receptionist was rude and dismissive when we raised concerns. Whenever I spoke, he just looked at my boyfriend, and said "Sir", then he continued talking only to his, and ignoring me. He just referred to his boss, but wouldn't put us in contact with him. Another staff member even admitted they’ve had multiple complaints about this particular receptionist, but management has done nothing to address the issue.
On booking websites it is also advertised that the hotel is smoking free throughout (meaning both public and private areas), but the staff let the guests smoke on the rooftop where we have breakfast. This forces us to sit very close to people smoking while eating. A smoke free hotel was one of the main criteria we had when we booked our holiday. When we raised the issue, the receptionists said that they would never tell the guests not to smoke on the property.
On top of all this, the hotel lied about its amenities. None of the advertised features like a free coffee machine, laundry service, packed lunches, room service, a Turkish bath/hamam, key card access, 24-hour security, a mini-market, an ATM, or a sun terrace were available during our stay. They even limited guests to one egg per person at breakfast, which was absurdly petty.
In summary, Hotel Twenty is a scam. The soundproofing is nonexistent, the service is appalling, and the bathroom door situation was just the last straw. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone—stay far away!
UPDATE Since I don't know how to reply to Hotel Twenty's response, I write it as an update:
Dear Hotel Twenty,
I’m disappointed by your response, though sadly not surprised. I don’t make a habit of giving bad reviews, but I felt it was important to share our experience to help others avoid a similar situation. I want to clarify that we didn’t ask for a refund, and I have nothing to gain from this review. My intention was simply to provide an honest...
