If you're visiting Selçuk and looking for an authentic dining experience, look no further than the Old House Restaurant. Tucked away on a quiet street yet just minutes from the main attractions, this charming spot offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere and some of the best Turkish cuisine you'll find in the region. From the moment you step inside, you're treated like family. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to recommend a dish or share a story about the local ingredients. The setting is rustic yet cozy, with beautiful décor that reflects the region's heritage. As for the food—every dish we tried was exceptional. The mezes were fresh and flavorful, and the lamb casserole was cooked to perfection—tender, aromatic, and full of depth. Vegetarians will also find plenty of options, each one crafted with care. Don’t miss the homemade desserts or the local wine selection, which pairs perfectly with the meal. Whether you’re a traveler passing through or a local looking for a great meal, Old House Restaurant delivers an unforgettable experience. It’s a true taste of Turkish hospitality and flavor. Highly...

Thank you to the owner and his family for a wonderful dinner tonight.

The power went out in the entire town but our large group stayed, and so glad we did as we loved the entire experience.

The owner went out of his way to please us, the food was hands down amazing, freshly cooked by candlelight - what an effort! The salad was nice and cold, crisp and fresh, the service faultless and the entire setting just adorable. It is by far our most favourite meal during our tour of Turkey and can't recommend it enough.

The steak was phenominal, the tzatziki the best I've ever eaten, and the hummus outstanding! The rice pudding was the absolute yummiest too.

Thank you to the owners little girl who made our night so memorable. What a gorgeous little thing!!! And what a beautiful family.

One of the group left their keys on the table, the owner rode his bike to find us, in the dark, and hand back the key. I am so very impressed at this effort!!!

If you visit you must go. I promise you won't be disappointed. LOVED LOVED LOVED IT! Thank you so much.

Much...

No comment on the food as i didn't eat. It was raining quite heavily i came just out of the train station with two giant packs weighing 22kg. I am wet and cold. They apparently had water issues the restaurant floor was filled with water all over. There was only a group of two dining at 7pm. I picked the driest table unfortunately it's a table of 6. I dropped off my bags on the charis. The owner quickly came to me and asked me to move And sit at a small table right next to where the water was running down from as 'we don't have enough tables and these are for bigger groups'. I struggled to put my bags into one chair They we're wobbly and about to fall off at any given time. I was finally pissed off and decided to not let him earn my money. If he had the least common sense he should show some empaty to someone came in the rain with lots of heavy luggages to at least sit down and rest. Besides on a rainy night 7pm with only one group dining i don't understand how big a crowd he...

We came to this restaurant based on the recommendation of the front desk at Urkmez Hotel. It was raining quite heavily that day, but the owner served all customers with great enthusiasm. His little daughter helped her father keep the water from entering the restaurant. Although the food was a bit slow due to the weather obstacles, the deliciousness of every dish made up for it. We ordered Adana Kebab and another lamb dish (sorry, I can't remember the name). The restaurant provided bread, a vegetable salad, and even apple tea after the meal. I must say the Adana Kebab here is the best I've ever tasted, with a fragrant charcoal flavor and a slightly spicy taste. The lamb was equally delicious. Comparing the food quality with the price, it was reasonable. Importantly, the owner is honest and does not take advantage of tourists. He clearly informed us what is complimentary, and there were no extra charges in the bill. Before leaving Selcuk, we planned to eat at this restaurant again the next day, which was a Sunday. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed. We definitely come to this restaurant again. See you on our next trip!

A most delicious meal! I was looking for something warm and tasty after a long day at the Efes (Ephesus) sites, and this place was perfect! I ordered the mercimek (lentil) soup and it was divine, especially with a squeeze of lemon on top. The chicken shish kebap was so tender and delicious, and they brought out a dressed salad and fresh bread free of charge. The white wine was nice, too. The decor and atmosphere are welcoming and it would be a great place for anything from a solo dinner to a group celebration. Definitely worth a trip!

Beautiful tranquil place, outstanding food, extremely lovely people running it. I highly recommend this establishment. The portions are generous, quality is great and the care in cooking and delivery is above and beyond! The excellent bread and eggplant/tomato meze was good enough to eat for my main course. The chicken was juicy and tender. Salad was so fresh and flavorful. Try this place for a real Turkish meal at a favorable price. You will not be disappointed.
