I had really bad day at this cami today..i used to go there often when i was traveling to Turkey to sit and enjoy the garden silence and the old Imam was a great guy who smiles at you and make u feel welcomed.today I realized imam changed there and new Imam was so angry and aggressive and i really felt bad about going to cami again.he kicked us out because we took picture in garden while my cousin and her husbnd were standing together and he huged her not sure what was wrong because we were not inside the mosque and mosque is the place of love like church not hatred .he asked my aunt to say sorry directly to him in front of her husband and childeren seems like he enjoys humilating and it was so awkward the way he was pointing her with finger :(say sorry to me now.)his exact words my aunt was shocked and said :what?so he repeated himself and waiting for it. because we took a picture and we insulted god by that lol so i said if we insulted god we ask him for forgivness not you .he asked me where i am from and i said Iranian so he said no wonder you act like this. and i dont know what other think of this but its racisist .i have 5 witness of my family all were shocked how he can talk like this and be so insulting to people.it effected their trip to turkey and their idea about Imams for sure .they live in Germany and have many Turkish friends and love Turkish people but never had such a experience and this is a story for them to remember from selcuk visit .not a good one, I hope this imam learn to not abuse religion for his nasty behaviour, at the door some of locals told us how they are not happy with this man no...

Isa Bey Mosque is one of the most delicate examples of Seljukian architecture, situated below the basilica of St. John. The mosque was built by the master Syrian architecture Ali son of Mushimish al -Damishki, between the years of 1374 and 1375.

The mosque was styled asymmetrically unlike the traditional style, The location of the windows, doors and domes were not matched, purposely. In the entrance of the mosque, an inscription from the god decorates the doorway. The columns inside the house of prayer are from earlier ruins in Ephesus, making an interesting contrast to the mosque.

The domes are ornamented by turquoise and blue faience, revealing the characteristic of Ottoman style. Crown-like doors from Seljukian architectural style later combine with the specific decoration elements of architectural style. The mosque was repaired in 1934. The mystical atmosphere of "Isa Bey Mosque" must be experienced in the excursion around...

Selcuk style architecture that amaze you when visit this historic mosque. Still functioning and some area in restoration progress. The Mosque have special features and identity that made its architecture different than most of the Mosque in Turkey. Located next to oldest and largest bacillica made this unique building easy to be notice and can be visited for many tourists. North entrance on refurbishment on my visit and you may still enter from south entrance. Ample space for tourists coach parking or cars. You may need to wear suitable shoes to climb up to the entrance. For Muslims.... Ablation area in the garden has no warm or hot water so during winter just get ready with towel or tissue. Women may need to take your ablation earlier before enter and praying here as there's no separate ablation for you. It's a nice and beautiful mosque to enjoy both history and...

Isa Bey Camii (Masjid Isa Bey) “Silakan wudhu di sana!” Kami datang terlambat. Isa Bey Camii. Pertama kali masuk terpana, saya kira kami memasuki biara. #storymytrip #turkey #turkeytrip #backpackerjambi #isabeycamii #masjidisabey #seljuk #selcuk
