We liked this place so much that we ended up eating here three times over the course of two days. It’s a small, family-run place that’s been in operation since 1988. We found the owners to be absolutely lovely people that took great pride in the quality of their food. The speciality here is the fresh grilled meat. We had both the minced lamb and the chicken - both executed perfectly. We also got to see the owner freshly preparing his meat one morning - you sensed his pride in ensuring everything was fresh and of high quality. Highly recommended for a meal, but note the place is small, so not much space for large groups. Also, it’s a family place that could get busy during certain hours, so don’t come if you are just looking for a quick bite.

One of the tastiest and healthiest meals we have had in a while. We ordered several of the small plates of stuffed peppers, stuffed aubergine, grilled aubergine and stuffed aubergine. it was a great [vegetarian] meal in itself. We also ordered the chicken wings that were perfectly grilled on skewers. Flavorfully charred on the outside, very moist inside. Menu was easy to understand for non Turkish speakers and the owners were friendly and welcoming. Location was convenient to station and its pleasant seating area has a nice view of the storks nesting on top of columns of what, I think, are the old aquaducts. The area of Izmir that we are staying in is mostly doner based menus, so this felt like a nice treat for us.

My wife and I were visiting Selçuk for a couple of days and we decided to stop at Edjer based on very positive online reviews. Wow! We were not disappointed. This was the best meal we have had in Türkiye since we arrived two weeks ago. The restaurant is owned by a couple who have been in business since 1988. They were both so kind and welcoming. The food was really amazing and not very expensive. We both had very big meals we could not finish (including a beer) and the total was about USD $23. Everything we ate was made fresh. It took a little time to cook, but that gave us time to relax from a long day of walking around the city. If you’re looking for a place to eat, you cannot beat Ejder.

I was part of a table of 6 (2 of which have already left a review and yes we did eat at this restaurant, your reply to a previous review presumed that we did not). It took a while to get served but this was nothing compared to how long we waited. One of the party was served first (tomato soup and properly cooked rice) then 15 to 20 minutes later 2 more people were served (steak and sushi) then after 5 minutes the cop sish then after another 20 to 30 minutes the final two of the group (including myself) were served. Despite ordering 2 of thensame dish, sushi, there was a good 30 to 45 minute wait between two of the exact same dish. When asked about the wait time the lady serving seemed to forget that we had ordered food for all 6 people and not just 4. The kitchen staff clearly have no idea about cooking food so that a. A table all gets served at around the same time and b. That people who order first generally get served first. There was a table of a similar number who had most of their food served before we ordered but then a dish or two after our first serving. There was also a table of east Asian ladies (just proof that I did actually eat here) who arrived 10 or 15 minutes after our table but got served their meals in-between our wait for the last 2 dishes. The menu appears big but that is because they have clear pictures of the food. However the pictures do not show what you will get. I ordered sushi, which, according to the photo in the menu was 2 wraps, rice, yoghurt and salad. However I only received 1 wrap, no yoghurt and a fork full of rice. On asking for more rice we received two portions which clearly had not been cooked at the same time. The portions contained overcooked sticky rice and severely undercooked rice on the same plate and therefore in the same mouthful. It was like the chef topped up the rice they had started to cook with more from the packet. This was clearly not taste tested before being served. However the meat was tasty and well cooked. The restaurant is in a busy street and seems to be popular with both people and animals. There were a number of cats sitting under and around tables which is normal for Turkey. There were also a few dogs too. Again normal apart from the fact that there were 2 dogs almost climbing on tables and other customers begging to be fed. If you are happy to wait, don't mind much smaller portion sizes than expected and like having your legs brushed up against by cats or slobbering dogs hovering around you then this is the restaurant for you...if you don't there are plenty of other places to...

Do you know this is a restaurant that Hilary Clinton and Bill Clinton had been to? This restaurant is although small but it has probably the best dish in Selcuk. Seriously, I love every dishes in this restaurant. I love the tomato soup, it is not watery or bland, it is very juicy and well flavored. The kebabs are very nice too, while it is crispy it is very juicy too. There is more meat on the kebab dish than vegetables, which is a lot different from ordinary restaurants as they intend to put many vegetables to maximize the profit. I recommend something that is like the fried rice with mushroom and meat as well. It is a type of cuisine that is put on a hot pan and you can mix the meat and mushroom together. It is really really good. But the best thing you cannot miss is the cheese mushroom. WE ALL LOVE IT ! Well, the price is very reasonable and cheap as well. It might be slighly more expensive than the stuff in selcuk. But THE FOOD WORTH THE PRICE. The owners are very friendly and amiable. Speaks english too :) Love...
