A Memorable Culinary Experience at Apetito Restaurant in Capadoccia
I recently had the pleasure to have lunch at Apetito Restaurant in Capadoccia and it was an experience I will cherish forever. From the moment we stepped in, Asil, personally attended to our needs, ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. With a small but carefully curated menu, Apetito Restaurant offers a delightful range of dishes that are masterfully prepared to perfection.
One of the highlights of our visit was the impeccable service provided by Asil. His warm and attentive nature made us feel welcomed and valued. He took the time to explain each dish and made recommendations based on our preferences. Asil's personal touch added a special color to the overall dining experience.
The menu at Apetito may be concise, but it is a testament to the quality and attention to detail put into each dish. We had the pleasure of sampling a variety of items from the menu, and every single dish was a culinary delight. The clay pot meats were especially outstanding, bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The meats were tender, succulent, and paired perfectly with the accompanying spices and sauces. It was evident that each dish was prepared with care and passion.
The ambiance at Apetito Restaurant is warm, inviting, and exudes a cozy charm. The rustic decor and soft lighting create a relaxed and intimate atmosphere, perfect for a memorable dining experience. The restaurant's setting also offers a stunning view of Capadoccia, adding to the overall charm of the establishment.

Read moreFantastic food. Amazing Cave/External views. Lovely staff. Value for money given location and top tier experience. April 2025 We visited Apetito twice in 3 days.
Food was great. Turkish food presented really well with a variety of set menu options or a la carte.
Kitchen is small and bustling and you can eat either indoors in part of a cave or outdoors on the terrace and see the great geography at night.
While I can’t swear it’s a family business we did find out the lovely server who looked after us, she has the best English ability, also had her dad working in front of house as well.
Here’s why we went twice when there are so many good eating options in Ürgüp: staff were reliable and seemed to genuinely want to see us happy with their service. First night we weren’t very hungry and they let us just choose a couple of meze and not the normal 5-dish meze plate option. When we went back a second time they gave us smiles and made us feel we were returning to family. They shifted tables to make room for us even though we didn’t have a reservation:-). This level of sincerity was with others as well!
We watched staff try and fit in 10 people at the last minute and they wanted the people to have a good visit despite the table being booked only an hour later. After explaining the situation and trying to accommodate the large party’s needs the party shifted to a formal reservation for the next night in a lovely outdoor setting where they could sit for a couple of hours. The party was so happy they added even more people for the next night.
Running a small restaurant and staying in business is not easy. I hope every success...

They had 2 set menus (subject to change) the evening we were there, which included: • 5 different mezzes & bread • soup • salad (with a delicious dressing!) • main dish choice of either: • pottery kebap (beef, lamb or chicken) with rice, or • traditional Turkish foods • dolmas & rice-stuffed roasted vegetables, • crispy raviolis, • stewed beans (I could eat every.single.day.), • rice • choice of 3 desserts: rice pudding, semolina orange cake, or baklava (the best I’ve had in Turkey!)
Other reviews have mentioned that the portions were small but we found them to be perfectly ample and left stuffed.
Everything was full of flavor and served thoughtfully. Both the rosé and red wine we had were complex and dry (as requested) and paired well with the food.
Service was outstanding! Dishes were quick to arrive and be cleared, and we had so much fun chatting with Elif (daughter with excellent English) and Arif (dad) about their lives, Cappadocia, and Turkey.
Finally, the restaurant decor and location are top notch. We enjoyed both the indoor wood stove adding lovely ambiance and warmth to the cool-ish, late October evening, and sitting by the fire on their terrace drinking wine &...
