Efendi Wine House — Restaurant in Urgup

We headed to Efendi wine house after we tasted at Turasan and after tasting their wines and experiencing their hospitality, Efendi is definitely the winner for us. The hosts were pleasant and welcoming and they offered more wines to taste. We liked most of the wines except one or two. The cheese & crackers platter was wholesome, fresh and delicious. We lounged long enough to feel good from the number of wines we tasted. We had a lovely table facing the road and watched the world go by. We went to this awesome wine cellar by luck as the nearby restaurant owner who is a friend of owner of this place took us there. He kindly waited for us for more than an hour after closing. We had an amazing experience, tasting, trying, talking, taking photos etc. They have a good range of local wines and other unique liqueurs (fruit flavours), all reasonably priced. We stopped by spontaneously for a glass of local Cappadocian wine and were very pleasantly surprised. The owner was friendly and welcoming and his recommendation, the Efendi red wine, was excellent. The atmosphere is relaxed, perfect for enjoying a quiet drink.
