Avoid this place like the plague — because you may feel like you have the plague when you leave. The food is mediocre at best and on a bad day can send you running for the closest toilet. The service is abysmal. Prepare to wait to be seated even when the restaurant is nearly empty. Then prepare to wait 45 minutes or more for food that may or may not show up at all. Some of the servers seem to actively avoid helping the patrons. Others simply seem indifferent. It took 20 minutes just to get an ice coffee after everyone else at the table got our drinks. We had to ask repeatedly, and at one point, when we thought the person we asked was going to get it, she instead made herself a cup of coffee and stood at the coffee station drinking it. On another morning, I waited 40 minutes for my food and it simply never came. I had to leave without eating. My daughter got chocolate chip pancakes that were so undercooked that there was still wet batter in the middle. My wife ordered eggs over medium, and they came fried solid throughout. Here’s a picture of the $10 French toast that was wet and undercooked. We’ve tried the breakfast here every day for a few days because it’s free at our resort. We won’t be back. If you want breakfast in the area, go to Bay Bistro on the beach next-door.

Went to the beach bbq. I was originally only going to give it 3 stars. That would have been a mistake. Stay for the entire program to understand why it’s 5 stars. The good: jerk chicken, the salads, fruit tart, rice and beans, music with DJ singing, our server was nice. Bonfire was a nice touch. It was great that they set up loungers by the bonfire. The bad: high cost ($254 before any drinks for 2 adults and 2 kids), $5 for 500 ml bottles of water since no drinks included. Drinks with alcohol start at $24 and go up from there. We stuck with bottled water. The ugly: extremely buggy. Wear long sleeves, turtleneck top, and tight pants. I could feel the bugs crawling down my shirt even though I was completely covered. They had free bug spray, but it did not do much to keep the bugs off. Set your table light to red to have less bugs. The wow factor: I was about to leave but the staff said I should stay for the fire dancer. Wow! The Dragon changed my experience from 3 stars to 5 stars. I don’t want to give too much information away but you should definitely stay for the whole thing. Don’t leave after the bonfire and the buffet.

Last night my husband and I went to Barbetta house to have dinner, we sat at the bar. We ordered drinks and an app. For dinner we got the paella for two all the way w fish and chorizo and chicken. When it came it was missing the chicken and chorizo. We were hungry so we ate it and when the bill came we were charged for all the way paella. We should have spoken up right away but we assumed it was an oversight, no big deal. We let the bartender know when he dropped the check. Then the manager came up and said “is there a problem?” At this point the bartender already charged us for it. We explained the situation and his response was the chef said that chorizo and chicken were in the paella. We explained it wasn’t. After we were called liars and put up a stink he decided to fix the credit card charge. I’ve attached a picture to show there was no chicken or chorizo in the paella. No one goes around lying about this. I will never go back and if u go check your check twice.

I went to Barbetta Restaurant for a New years eve dinner only to find out it was BBQ from a security guard. The only BBQ that was seen was a pallet of wood being thrown into a fire pit which they said was a “bonfire”. I’ve seen better “bonfires” in the back of my yard burning fall leaves. The dinner listings said that it was $90 per person, we paid more than that due to their unknown fees. If I wanted hidden fees I’d be on the phone with AT&T or Verizon discussing a phone plan. Next the buffet was a let down, food was cold, although it did taste fine, a complete rip off for their asking price, the most expensive thing in the whole buffet were the 3 ribs on my plate. We were given (one) complementary drink in a plastic cup (not a red solo cup, a plastic kid’s birthday party cup), the choice of drink was fruit punch, rum punch, or champagne. This was enough to quench the thirst of a 3 year old child but not of a fully grown adult, so we ordered another drink. The drinks were $23 for another plastic cup. I would feel better getting drunk off stolen sacramental wine than paying $23 for a plastic kiddie cup of guava pulp and some rum. There was music playing so loudly I couldn’t hear anything my party was saying and had to ask them multiple times to repeat what they said. When the music stopped we overheard another group arguing with the waiter over a couple of bottles of water that he purchased which totaled to $400. Personally at that point I’d just go drink the sea water. They also tried to tax the water. If you take a look at other reviews you’ll see that they charge scam fees like a “property fee”. If I wanted a “property fee” I’d go to a car lot in Brooklyn. When we got there, they were close to closing up, compared to the absolute rager going on at the other restaurants next door. Compared to Barbetta house their music was good, not too loud and their buffet line was incredible. It was so good in fact that I started to feel jealous. I’d highly recommend you go over there instead of Barbetta’s. Overall the experience is as a 0/5, if I wanted to get scammed I would’ve done so on...

BUYER BEWARE!! We have been coming to Turks and Caicos for 15 years. We decided to finally try the beach barbecue at Barbetta. First of all the line to pay and get your tickets was ridiculously slow. We probably stood online for 45 minutes just to pay to eat. That’s all you can eat barbecue $65. When you get up to pay oh did you want lobster tonight as well which they advertise as one of their menu items for the barbecue, if you do that will be another $20 per person. So now you were online for 45 minutes to pay and they spring that on you.

OK as if that’s not bad enough you agree, once you’re done paying they let you know that oh by the way, your drinks are not included not even soda forget alcohol, that will come as a separate charge after you finish drinking.

Unaware I waited for my husband to finish paying I ordered a Diet Coke, which I assumed came with the barbecue meal, but I was wrong and the bottle of water that she graciously offered me that wasn’t free either. I watched people walk by and stand online endlessly to get their barbecue food, using paper plates and music blaring so much so that you couldn’t hear and it was not enjoyable. My friend and I were unaware of the up charges at the time of payment so when my husband and our friend got back and told us I was furious how dare they advertise $65 and you end up paying over 110 because you have to leave a tip, even though you don’t know how the service is going to be.

Thankfully, we walked out and they gave us a refund minus the Diet Coke and water were exorbitant priced at $22. Not worth it in my opinion, And quite frankly feels like a scam they get you there for $65 which to me is nothing to sneeze at and then they keep increasing. Who knows what the cost of those alcoholic beverages would’ve been each. So now that you know everything, they don’t tell you before you get there you can make an informed decision about whether or not you want to go. I never got to try the food because we were so upset we left!

Never again, don’t care for...
