Grace Bay Place — Hotel in Providenciales

We stayed for six nights at Grace Bay Place, the next building over from Island Club Turks and owned by the same family. (I could not find an entry for Grace Bay Place, which I believe is rather new). We had everything we needed within the house or within a short walk. The owner, Debbie was great and called a taxi for us and gave us advice several times.

We had a two BR unit with a Q over Q bunk and full bathroom with tub and shower on the second floor and a queen bedroom with full bathroom (shower only) and washer dryer, plus a living room, dining room, screen porch, and fully stocked kitchen with blender, toaster, electric tea kettle and plenty of cups, plates and silverware for both adults and kids (plastic ware). The Wi-Fi was good in the unit, but very strong around the pool area. When my husband needed to Zoom for work, the pool side worked very well. This was great because we found the cellular service on the island spotty.

The beds were comfortable and everything was super clean and in great working order. The AC in each room was controlled by a remote and all worked well. There was not a dishwasher, but the owner provides dish detergent, etc as well as extra garbage bags, soap, and tons of beach and bath towels. We brought our own beach and pool toys, but there were also some left behind by other guests that are sitting along the front of the building, and we left some of our things behind as well. The pool was spacious, hardly used, and very clean. There were many different seating areas and a large BBQ grill. Our townhouse also had its own grill, but we did not use it.

The walk to the beach was a flat and safe two blocks. We brought a collapsible wagon and were glad we did so we could both cart our stuff back and forth easily and also so we could walk to the grocery store and easily carry heavy items back home. The grocery is about a fifteen minute walk at a leisurely pace with the wagon and kids, and there are restaurants, shopping and ice cream along the way. We brought silver bubble wrap “bags” with us from the USA and our items were still cold by the time we brought them back, even in the afternoon.

The beach has ample chairs marked for the rental units and were very comfortable and in great condition. The portion of the beach we were on was deep enough not to be bothered by passers-by, but not as deep as the “busy” part near the Ritz and other big resorts, so you can easily watch the kids swimming while relaxing, something that would be near impossible at the wide sections.

I stayed here Easter week 2016. I was a little skeptical at first but once we checked in, I felt a little better. First, I booked a 1 bedroom unit. I was upgraded to a 2 bedroom unit as there were no more available 1 bedroom units at no extra charge. The unit was very nice. It had 2 full bathrooms, a full kitchen, dining and living room, and a screened in patio. The living room furniture and kitchen need upgrading, but it's very functional. There's a barbecue by the pool that you can use and the first 3 buildings are near the pool. The property is in walking distance to the Salt Mills and they offer bicycles for you to use. I rent a car at the airport but you can also rent cars from them. They will even arrange shuttle service for you to and from the airport. The unit can be quite hot as there's no air conditioning in the main areas of the house. We solved that by running the air conditioners in the bedrooms, keeping the doors open and the blinds closed. Kept the place cool even in 90 degree heat. They will even stock your refrigerator prior to your arrival. I didn't request as I prefer to do my own shopping. Lastly, it's within walking distance to the beach. I would say about 10 minutes depending on how fast you walk. It's a nice place to stay for a moderate price. The most beautiful apartments with the perfect location for EVERYTHING! 5 minute walk to the beach. 5 minute walk to the shops and cafes. Walking distance to “Fish Fry”. The owners are the kindest, loveliest people who make your stay so personal. The whole apartment complex and rooms are incredibly clean and modern and fully equipped. WiFi is great as well! It is very relaxing by the pool and there are also beds available at the nearby beach if you wish to use them. I cannot fault this place and already very excited to go back.
