The property is pretty and highly recommended. Room - was updated and looked just like photos. I did thoroughly clean and dust everything from TV stands , cabinets and top of bed so house keeping really needs to do better. We had pots, plans, plates, utensils, microwave , toaster, expresso/ coffee machine. Even a washer and dryer. Water pressure was fine. I had 3rd floor. Place is very quiet. Rooms should be repainted as many scuffs on walls. Pool- amazing. Towels to use and pool toys included. Watermelon float was great. Fitness area- nice, clean and just had 2 bikes, trend mill, yoga ball, ropes and dumbells. Bathroom in there as well so you don't have to go to your unit from pool. Beach- literally like a 2 min walk, beautful and right next to bay Bistro. Chairs and umbrellas there for Tide people. Sandtoys provided as well if needed. Workers- all I encountered were fabulous and got us whatever we needed so thank you! Just tell house keeping to clean better and need to pay attention to details. Location- not awful. Better than I thought. Beach is right behind you. Shopping area is a 10-15 min walk. You can use bikes for free if you want a 5 min commute. A few restaurants within walking distance of 5 min. At night it does get dark and not many well lit spots. Fish Fry is a 4 min walk and right down street. ( happens every thurs, must see) Restaurants - bay bistro building right next to you. (Grab smoothies there while on beach) Mr groopers 5 min away if you go walking left and straight, barrabettas across street in somerset. Hemming ways is like 10 min walking around building and empty lot. Taxis- i will say, wicked expensive and the most i ever spent on taxis to go up a mile!!! And they are regulated prices. I cancelled all far away plans. Grocery store visit is $40 bucks and you are allowed only 20 minutes to shop. Boat activities- ask to be picked up right there on bay bistros Beach area! Save the taxi ride. If you arrive early, just put your things in reception and enjoy the pool! I would stay here again !

Beware of 3 Bedroom Villa Its difficult to even know where to start with the warnings on this "villa" It's basically an old house that the Tides bought next door and decided to add to it's property. Slap some paint on it, throw some blankets and pillows on beds, take misleading photos for their website and you now have an extra money maker. For $1000 per night, this 3 bedroom was such a dump. Just to list some of the things we experienced... It had zero water pressure. broken glass on the back patio, broken wood decking, exposed rusty screws from the gate door that was broken off, a rusty and disgusting pull-out freezer drawer, rotting on the bottom of Bathroom doors, a dried lizard on the front patio that was collecting ants since before the day we showed up and a ceiling fan covered in dust. We asked to speak with the manager and when we showed him some of these things in an actual walk-through, he brushed us off as having too high of expectations. When we followed up with him after our visit, he said he would fix some of the things for future guests. While I hope that happens, it's not likely given the way they operate. I urge you to look at the photos of the house on their website versus what I've posted for photos and you'll see the discrepancy. Save your money and stay somewhere else. This place was beyond gross.

This place exceeded my expectations. Beautiful, roomy, great ocean views. A staff that went way above and beyond! The location was steps from dining and a heavenly beach. It's a hidden gem. We had a gorgeous 4th floor suite that overlooked the sea. The decor was great, lots of space and light. Quick walk to beach, restaurants, etc. If we had planned ahead we would have taken better advantage of the spacious, beautifully appointed kitchen. Wayn, Sam and Solomon made up the very friendly staff. The housekeeping folks were exceptional, too! Turks and Caicos was third on our list (St. John and St. Thomas were booked). But we will be back at The Tides for sure. Turks & Caicos was a very pleasant surprise, mostly because of the people. So kind and hospitable. The bartenders and wait staff might seem reserved at first, but once you demonstrate a bit of humanity, they open up and would give you the shirt off their backs. This was my impression. So... I have zero complaints about The Tides. My only caution is when leaving the island, budget an extra half hour for an airport that could be better organized.

Outstanding! The entire experience with The Tides at Grace Bay was seamless, from booking to the lovely stay to departure was extremely pleasant. Being our first time in Turks, we needed Day 1 to go well, and the property manager, Wayne, was on top of it, guiding us via cell in our 1st-time-ever right-side driving rental through unfamiliar territory safely to the property. He was waiting to greet us, check us in and provided a thorough tour of the property and accommodations. We were blown away by the One Bedroom suite w/ Den. Having a bit of OCD, I was delighted at the cleanliness and tasteful furnishings. The suite has everything we would need and more. It was like all of our precious home conveniences were waiting for us in the suite, complete with FULLY-EQUIPPED kitchen, appliances and bountiful cabinetry. The beautiful kitchen with large counter island and adjoining living room leading out to a gigantic balcony overlooking the pool and palm trees made us feel like we were in paradise. Every morning of our 9 day vacation, we enjoyed our personally-made full breakfast on the balcony. The rest of the suite was equally charming and wonderfully appointed with spacious master bedroom, two large bathrooms with modern walk-in showers that accommodate more than one person. Very useful additions like large lighted touch mirrors and great water pressure were welcome. There was also a nice size washer and dryer, dual entrances to the suite and an adjacent room to the bedroom that was perfect for all of our luggage. The grounds were so clean and beautiful and truly within walking distance to beautiful Grace Bay Beach and YES, The Tides provides beach lounge chairs and umbrellas. Let me add that for our suite, we didn’t choose an ocean view, but were surprised with a reasonable view of the beautiful turquoise waters from our master bedroom window and master bathroom. Throughout our stay, Wayne and the entire Tides staff were ready and willing to fulfill our needs and did not disappoint. Restaurants and tour suggestions were perfect which helped to make our overall time in Turks a true delight. And it was very thoughtful to provide COVID travel testing the day before our departure. Oh and one more genuine plug for The Tides — It’s walking distance to the fantastic Fish Fry Festival at Bight Park and just a very short bike ride to scores of shopping establishments and restaurants (The Tides provides complimentary bikes). If we could stay in Turks forever, we would; and we will certainly stay at The Tides at Grace Bay when we return...

Let me start by listing the few positives. The staff at the hotel are wonderful people. They were always available when we needed them. The room has a washer and dryer, area is fairly quiet, beach wasn’t far and they had chairs and umbrellas at the beach for guests to use.

Unfortunately that wasn’t enough to make up for the awful room. We booked the Family Suite (1 bed, 2 pullout couches with pool view on the 4th floor)Upon arrival the young lady walked us up to our room, as soon as we walked in we smelled a musty smell. The lady agreed that there was a smell. We asked if there was anything that could be done, so she got us the manager. He was there within minutes, however, the only solution was to move us to a smaller room. We are a family of four and would not be comfortable in a smaller space for 7 nights. So, the only real option was to stay in the room and pray the smell would go away. An hour later the room smell changes from musty to sewer smelling. The sewer smell would come and go and lasted for about 8 min each time. To make thing worse, the AC wasn’t working properly. So we were in a warm room that either smelled musty of like sewer and we were there for 7 nights. Not a good start to what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation. We did alert the manager of the AC situation, they had a HVAC company come out the next day to address the issue. It took a few days to get the room temperature right and the musty/ sewer smell never left. We also had some concerns with the main exterior door as it opened outward. The hinge was on the outside which left me thinking anyone would pop the hinge off and get access to the room. The second bathroom has a window with no window cover which was an issue at night. The other disadvantage to this hotel/ area is it’s far from everything . The two restaurants near the hotel are not good, Bay Bistro not sanitary and food was awful, so when we wanted a cup of coffee or a quick bite we would have to go to the main strip. Walking there (20 min)or biking is an option, however, it’s very hot so I don’t even consider that an option before sunset. This left us needing to call a taxi each time we wanted to get something, $6 per person each way adds up fast. Here is my recommendation, if you choose to stay in this area for a quieter stay I would recommend looking at other hotels in the area and rent a car. If you want to be close to everything select a hotel on the main strip ( anything from The Sands to The Ritz is good) so you can have easy access to restaurants and grocery with no...
