This place is perfect for a hearty breakfast (pancakes, eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes, etc.). I came here every morning for breakfast after trying it once. I never had any complaints about the food or service. The employees all seemed nice and welcoming and the owner is there every morning to greet you.
Still, I do have some feedback for the owner. There were a few times across different days where I really didn’t like how you spoke to your employees. I mention this because I saw it happen multiple times; not a one-off case. I can understand being frustrated with your team if they’re not meeting your expectations but there’s a time, a place, and an approach for you to re-teach/re-train vs. speaking to them in a way that comes off as demeaning. I really didn’t like it. Your team is just that; your team. Not servants. They can be customer-focused without being micromanaged — just take some extra time to train, explain the “why” behind the reason you’re asking them to do something in a particular way (so they can better understand where you’re coming from), and remember they are people — not robots or servants.
I’m obviously only seeing a glimpse of interactions between you and your team; so there may be more to it but from the outside looking in — the interactions I saw made you look bad as a manager/owner; it didn’t make the employees look bad. One time in particular, I noticed another table of guests also noticing how you were speaking to an employee and they were talking about it at their table.
Some constructive criticism that I hope you take something from because I think you probably mean well but from the outside looking in, it comes off otherwise. This is the only reason I'm...
Read moreThe staff was very nice. They are very attentive and the food was decent. I wish I would’ve taken a picture of the food on my first visit but it was too good to wait 😂. On my first visit I had the “Cesar beacon and chicken wrap” and my wife had a “ham and cheese panini”.
The first day Herb the owner greeted every customer and engage in simple conversations. So we went back the next day and I felt like he was avoiding us, so I went ahead and reintroduced myself 🤣. And I understood why this gentleman did come to us a second day, because he tells everybody the same thing about how his business survives off of the locals who live on the island but 90% of the people on both days where tourist! I’m hoping after he reads this he’ll work on some new material to tell people 🤣. He just keeps telling himself another in paradise but that’s not the feeling you get from him 🤣.
On the second visit we had the 🥞 and the pizza🍕. The pizza to me personal tasted frozen and the tomato sauce was awful. When I taste the pancakes I can agree with most of the reviews of them, they were dry. The owner after reintroducing myself, noticed that I didn’t eat the other half of the pizza and didn’t even ask but decided to get one himself. I even offered him half just to see his reaction.
My suggestion to anyone visiting this establishment to look around and see what everyone else is having. That way you know your not getting an item on the menu that’s been sitting in the back for a long time. Also my wife and I do agree that they have the worst coffee by far in any vacation destination.
I hope my...
