I would rate this spot at above five stars if I could. This review is based on several visits over Five days.
I'll break the review down into three parts: The food/drinks, the environment/facilities, the staff/atmosphere.
The food was above average. I had the spring rolls, Ravioli Several drinks (mojitos,Ice pick, beers) and a breadbasket. My partner had a few items, but the Creme Brulé was noteworthy. The mixed drinks were as good as I have ever had and full of flavour. The spring rolls were just right and tasty. The ravioli serving was small but enough to serve its purpose as an appetizer. It tasted authentic enough that it may have been made in house. The beers were all local brews.
The environment is perfect for unwinding. It is right on the Marina with lovely views from all angles with a sprawling open concept where there is no boundary between indoor and outdoor. The bar is just inside the main entrance and there is so much space with tables wrapping around the building. There is an open space in the middle that would make a perfect dance floor, but I had not seen it used for that purpose while I was there. If there was inclement weather, there is enough cover that everybody should still be able to stay dry and in good ...spirits...
The atmosphere is hands down the most welcoming that I have experienced on the entire island of Provo. So much so that on day 2 of visiting this bar, this was said to me by another patron: " Oh I thought you were a Captain or something. The way her eyes lit up when she saw you and greeted you so happy." This was referring to the bartender/server Felicia. She made me feel like I welcome and that I belonged there. By day 5, I felt like i was saying goodbye to an old friend. Felicia was extremely courteous, polite and friendly. Despite these characteristics, she still maintained a level of professionalism that can be admired. I did have interactions with a few other staff as well and they were all five-star professionals in my book.
This is the only place that I visited every single day of my time in Provo and this was by choice, not out of necessity.
If there is one negative aspect, it's that the food is a little expensive, but the service makes up for it tenfold.
I would recommend this spot to everyone who visits Provo, wherever you are, It's...
Read moreAfter hearing so many great things about Mango Reef and seeing a recommendation to dine there at sunset, we chose it for our final dinner in Turks and Caicos—and it did not disappoint. We were seated outside by the water, where we enjoyed breathtaking views of the sunset with stunning shades of pink and orange. Watching the birds along the shore added to the relaxing ambiance.
Since we arrived early, the restaurant was just opening up, and the service we received was excellent from start to finish. Our waiter, Trevor, provided the perfect balance of attentiveness without rushing us, ensuring we could savor each moment. Every staff member we interacted with made us feel welcomed and comfortable.
As for the food—it was truly the highlight of our trip! My husband, who can be a picky eater, and I both agreed that this was the best meal we’d had in a long time. I started with a piña colada, hands down the best I’ve ever had; it set a high bar for any I’ll try in the future! We shared the chicken spring rolls, which were light, crispy, and packed with flavor. For our main courses, I had the grilled lobster, and my husband opted for the jerk chicken. Each dish was beautifully prepared, and they took special care to accommodate my broccoli allergy.

Read moreVisited Mango Reef based on reviews and recommendations by past visitors, but I was not that impressed. There was no host at the desk, and we waited for a while before a guest, who was seated at a table near the little booth that seemed to be the waiting area, told us to find a seat ourselves, as they had done. By then, about four other couples were waiting behind my partner and me to be seated.
After we found a seat, it took a server around 25 minutes to come to our table. We ordered and asked the first server for the Wi-Fi password, but he gave us an incorrect one. We asked another server who came by, and again we received a different password, which still did not work. Finally, a third server gave us yet another password, but none worked.
We gave up on asking. Being away from our hotel with no service wasn’t a big deal, but the service at the restaurant just was not satisfactory.
As for the food, it was not worth the price. I had the Salmon, which was raw inside, and I could not eat it. To avoid any confrontation, I just set it aside and shared some of my partner's food instead. His snapper was cooked properly, just how I imagine fish should be cooked. Our total bill was $160. Again, not impressed with the food or service. It might have been an off day for them, but I'm just sharing...
