The reality and the description of this place on expedia, where I bought it, have a huge gap. So, you have expectations set in expedia ad of the place and go get crushed by reality. And not because the place is really worthless, or bad, but it's not what they try to sell it for. Misleading descriptions create illusion of standatd hotel with all its attributes and services. Not the case! Important note, this is not a hotel! Why it is named Hotel La Vista Azul? It is an airbnb style place. There wouldn't be surprise if they were open about it. They are in Airbnb as an airbnb place. I learned that later. The only hotel kind of service was that they put a shmpoo, conditioner and soap in the room on the first day and cleaned the room upon request. I tried to make birthday present for my husband for few nights and was looking for relaxing hotel with all amenities, sand beach on premises, but still not all inclusive option. We'll chose which services we need. Hotel La vista Azul descriptions matched what I was looking for, well... according to expedia. It was undewhelming to see big rancho style, underserved, meaning not so clean grounds, a little older already, airbnb style multilevel building with no elevator. Ok, I tried to stay cheerful, my husband didn't even know where I'm takinh him, it was surprise for him, so I had to act happy not to spoil it, but everything in me was down. Anyway, next thing we find out? Hotel is not on the beach, you have to walk about 10 minutes on paved road under hot sun to get to nearest beach. They should not write ,sand beach, as property amenities when there is no beach on the property! As a result, we skipped going to beach later in the evening, it was too far for that. We decided to try their pool, that was on fifth floor, but noticed it was not clean, water in both pools was pretty murky. No way we're going into dirty pool. Skipped that too. We changed our vacation from do-nothing and relax at beach mode, to active vacation with different activities, not to stay at this place - can't call it a hotel. We actually found out that these are condos that, at least part of it , are for sale. This might explain lower quality of service, though if I bought hotel packeage, I should not affected by that.
We noticed several guest groups including older couple being similarly disappointed and shocked, because they also came with illusion of full hotel and beach in the yard. I don't know how the older couple would clime five stairs without elevator, or walk under hot sun 10-15 minutes to the beach.
Not to say how bad their service was, not friendly in the office, answering as if theybare doing big favot to you. They had in description coffee machine, you assume this means coffee? No, no coffee. You need to find your own. They had coffee machine in the office, on my question if I can use it, with unhappy face receptionist looked at me and asked my room. After that gave me , Ok, with unhappy vibe. I surely never went there for a coffee. Then my asking for a shampoo and hair conditioner became an issue. Don't even want to go into that story, basically for 4 nights they gave me shampoo and conditioner on the first day only, and when I asked to give me only shampoos and conditioner for our stay since we will not need to clean the room, they said they will have to charge me for that. I surely rejected such "generous" offer. Can't explain such rudeness. On the last day only the woman in the office was nice, but didn't need to solve any issues with her. I actually tried not to enter that office anymore unless it is emergency, I felt very uncomfortable about it.
I saw peaople looking for a place for a coffee early morning and not find one.
I would say the place in general is not bad if you know you are booking airbnb with condo that has a kitchen and bring all you need with you, and don't need to communicate with office. The location is good for more secluded vacation if you have car to get to main strip. They need to be honest that this is not hotel and they will...
Read moreAVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS!!! NOT ALL INCLUSIVE and it is a -0/5 star hotel!! More like a MOTEL! And NOT worth your money at all!!! The staff at the desk are rude and incompetent, poor communication, and they try to overcharge you with quite literally everything. The “restaurants” on site are extremely overpriced as well and my friend bought a small bag of chips that were 2 months expired! Also, the layout of the hotel is extremely disjointed, open and unsafe so anybody can just walk on premises, and there are absolutely no elevators around, so you need to trek your way up including hauling all your luggage to your rooms at the upper part of the hotel in 90 degree heat, which is 7-15 flights of stairs. Good luck not getting an asthma attack by the time you get to your room! Absolutely NO staff members offered to help with our luggage at all either! The AC inside the room also sometimes didn’t work so you’re sweating like a pig roast overnight on top of it sounding like a broken chainsaw rattling all day and night. The pillows and bed also gave us extreme neck and back pain- the bed you sit and lay down on and can literally feel the spring coils on your bottom and back, and the pillows were either extremely flat or felt like cheap stuffing overstuffed inside of the pillowcase. Also, God forbid you bring the towel to the beach and accidentally get a little sand on it- they will charge you $20 per towel just for a tiny marking that you can easily bleach off!||I will definitely be staying at an all-inclusive resort next time for a couple hundred dollars more for ensured SAFETY, convenience, availability of nearby transportation/stores/shops/restaurants without having to take private overpriced...
Read moreHad a really terrible experience at the resort. when I came into our studio it was poorly cleaned. I used my own lysol wipes to clean to countertops and toilet seat and sure enough the wipes were brown after I cleaned the surfaces. also found someones strip lashes next to the nightstand lol..didnt complain as I always do my own cleaning at hotels anyway. ||There was also a musty smell that I couldn’t figure out. Later on the housekeeper came in and opened a door that I assumed was a closet but learned it was a washer dryer room. When she opened up the washer, there were wet towels from the previous guests still in there. I guess she wasn’t the one that cleaned the room before because even she took a picture for proof that this bs really happened. I didnt make a fuss cuz the staff seemed nice n didn’t want to be a bother.||Here’s the part that really pissed me off.. the towels we got had all types of stains on them.. we washed them ourselves the 2nd day and they didnt come out.. we knew that they were clean but just badly stained so we used them. After I leave the resort after 5 days, They send me a message that they are keeping 60$ from my deposit because the maid found a towel that had a stain on it that she couldn’t get out. .....now…these towels were already stained and if indeed my makeup did somehow get on it, simple detergent always gets it out. i told them of all the horrible things that happened during my stay and that the towels were already stained but they didnt care…no apologies, they just wanted money. ||You can spend your money at better resorts.. this is not worth it and left a really bad taste in my mouth after my otherwise enjoyable time...
