We tried to visit the place at 19.00 in the afternoon to enjoy the view and to have a drink. The temperature was 40 degrees or something like that. We were stuck in abu dhabi for a day because of a delay in our flight. We tried to see some sites around as the Great mosque and louvre. So, we visited the city as tourists. When we tried to visit also the bar, they told us in the entrance that without long pants we couldn't enter the bar, as they have a strict dresscode policy. 2 guys working in the place proposed to us to go back to our hotel, change pants and come back, which unfortunately we did. Bad idea. After this, they told us that it's impossible for a man to enter with open shoes. They have not mentioned this before, which made us feel really uncomfortable and for sure not welcome at all. It was afternoon, we are travelers and of course this was not a place for us. It's the only place in the whole city where we felt so unwelcome. People working there made us pay 3 taxis and did not let us enter. Furious. When we submitted our complaints to the reception, the employee said that she would call the manager of the place to see if they could make an exception. The point is there should be no exception for a person who wants to enter a place to pay for a couple of drinks in the afternoon. Also, a man cannot enter in open shoes, but this was not the case for another customer, a woman, who entered right after us the bar with flip flops. So If you are looking for a fancy place, this could be probably the one, only if you are ready to be dressed up in a fabulous way according to the employees there, but If you are looking for a cozy place to see the view and have a drink after the sightseeing around the city, stay away. They will make you feel really uncomfortable even in the...

Read moreGREAT BAR WITH A GREAT VIEW, SMOKER LOUNGES AVAILABLE. COCKTAILS COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER. As Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers hotel guests, we visited Ray’s for drinks three times. Once it opens, you hit the 62nd floor’s button and it takes you up there (before the bar opens, you cannot get up to the 62nd floor). The service is great, the staff is very friendly. And the view, especially at night is great. Might save you the costly visit of the oberservation deck (which is included in the same hotel), as there is no great difference. Prices for beer, wine, cocktails (appr. 15€) and soda drinks (app. 6€) are ok, especially at Happy Hour (I think it was between 6 and 8 PM). I’d have to say that the cocktails could have been better. Too much alcohol in it, that kind of destroyed the balance/taste. Shouldn’t be for the price of those cocktails. LEXX bar at the adjacent Grand Hyatt does...
