Taon Korean Restaurant — Restaurant in Abu Dhabi

To be honest, I was very disappointed. I tried to give this restaurant a chance I went there 2 times 1st time I met the owner. She was very nice and gave us a coupon because we didn’t like the meat there. Every Korean restaurant I went to serve the meat with strong flavors and that’s what we like about Korean food. This restaurant didn’t serve the meat flavored as it should be. Although I asked the chef to add more seasoning. I also ordered topokki. The only thing I like about it is that it’s stuffed with cheese. But the gravy itself wasn’t as sweet as it should be. I also ordered sweet and chili chicken and I was served a big bowl of half sweet and spicy chicken and half regular chicken. something I didn’t ask for. This restaurant lacks flavor.

Moneywise also very disappointing . Usually I order the same food at different Korean restaurants and my total comes around 200 to 300 dirhams. This time I paid over 500 dirham for only those dishes that didn’t taste good. For the topokki they made me pay for the seafood that included in the dish although I asked them for regular topokki without any seafood. In addition, very, very, very overpriced food. The first time I went, the service was good, especially when we met the owner she was very very friendly. The second time I went, I didn’t feel as welcomed as I did the first time. I think we came at 3 PM (for some reason they have a very strange system, where they close the restaurant at 3:30 and reopen later). One of the best Korean restaurants in abu dhabi.

The service is really great, the staff was really nice and helpful. First, they served you banchanc it’s kinda lika small dish for appetiser, The kimchi is delicious! One of my fav, it’s not too fermented and not spicy. The fish cake is also delicious with some veggies on it. The asparagus is the highlight! It’s soo good, i was a bit skeptical about the taste. Turned out it was super delish! The sauce is soooo goood.

They also serve you spring salad, the dressing is not my taste, but it’s still enjoyable when i add kimchi on it. For the main course, I order bibimbap and jjamppong. The bibimbap is very very very very recommended, it was the best bibimbap in abu dhabi. The veggies is perfect, the rice is perfectly cooked! They serve it in hotstone pot, which was super crispy at the bottom. The jjampông is spicy and so delish! The seafood is fresh, the spice is just my preference, the noodle is chewy and al dente!

And last, they serve a small watermelon and plum juice(if I’m not mistaken)

Overall, it was a pleasant lunch there! For sure I’ll comeback for their hot...

This place was so disappointing. Went to eat there with 13 people(9 Koreans). Worst Korean food we have ever had, terrible service, and incorrect billing. I would definitely not come here if you have allergies, my food came out with seafood even though I confirmed 3 times that there would be no seafood in it. No rice until we asked four times. When I spoke to the manager, Jessica, she said it was an intake unusually busy night, even though we were one of three tables, the other two tables had 4 people each. She also said, "sorry you had a bad time, all the other customers enjoyed." What kind of response is this! She followed this with "all the servers are from Nepal so they don't speak English well." Why would you say that about your staff? You just threw them under the bus when she should be responsible for training them and managing them. The whole restaurant was such a poor reflection...
