La Mamma Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Abu Dhabi

Use to be the best Italian restaurant in Abu Dhabi with an Italian maître'd, an amazing display of antipastas in the center of the room, a beautifully painted ceiling mural, great food & wine and great service. That was 10 years ago. It's been in a slow and steady decline since. It can hardly be called 5 star any longer. To be fair, the food is still good, but the menu hasn't changed (indeed, they need to be reprinted they're in such worn condition) and the antipasta selection is long gone. There's nothing very exciting on the menu. The well trained staff who knew all about wines and Italian cuisine are also long gone and the atmosphere is more empty cafeteria-like than days past. Be sure to sit down and order by 9:30 PM. By 10 PM , the staff begins to disappear and at 11 PM sharp the house lights go up. Awful delivery service and insulting level of the phone support.

Made an order via Deliveroo. After waiting for more than 1 hour I called them because they have their own delivery guys.

Lady from the restaurant support told that order left restaurant though according to the app I had to get my order 30 minutes before. After 30 minutes I still didn't receive my order and in the app my order had 'Delivered' status. In Deliveroo chat support they told the order haven't leave the restaurant. Which means lady from the restaurant support basically lied.

Deliveroo service in this situation is also seems to be frustrating because they work with places like this. At least they cancelled order but did give any other comment...
