Barbar – Business Bay Branch Review (May 24, 2025)
Cheese Rolls – 8/10 Crispy on the outside, melty cheese inside. Solid appetizer!
Small Falafel Platter – 10/10 Crispy and flavorful. Honestly better than the one in Riyadh – fresh and perfectly seasoned.
Cocktail Cheese & Zaatar Manakish – 9.5/10 Perfect balance of cheese and zaatar, with a light, crisp dough. One of the best manakish I’ve had.
Chicken Tawouk Sandwich – 7/10 Good, but the Riyadh branch does it slightly better. In terms of chicken level of consumption cooking.
Chicken Sub (Without Corn, Add Mozzarella) – 7/10 Cheesy, filling, and tasty.
Francisco (Without Soya Sauce) – 8.5/10 Nice sandwich, one of my favorite, but I prefer the texture of the bread and flavor of the one in Riyadh a bit more,
French Fries – 8.5/10 Crispy, hot, and classic – exactly what you want from good fries.
Moutabal – Smooth, creamy, and well-seasoned. I’ll not order it again.
⸻
Service – 10/10 Special thanks to Diab and Alaa – friendly, fast, and super professional and kind, The whole team was amazing.
Ambience – 8.5/10 Clean and colorful vibe. It was a bit crowded, but overall a good experience.

Overall Thoughts: Barbar Business Bay is one of my all-time favorite spots. Their falafel and manakish are better than the ones in Riyadh, no doubt. As for sandwiches, some are better in Riyadh, some shine here in Dubai. Still, the food is hot, fresh, and full of flavor. Highly recommended! I wish if they will open another branch outside of the building.

Read moreI recently dined at Barbar in Dubai and had an exceptional experience. The restaurant's vibrant atmosphere, coupled with its rich history, makes it a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Lebanese street food. Located in the heart of Dubai, Barbar offers a cozy yet lively ambiance that transports you to the streets of Beirut.
The menu is extensive, with a wide variety of dishes ranging from shawarma to manakish, all prepared with the freshest ingredients. The shawarma was perfectly seasoned and juicy, and the hummus was smooth and flavorful. I also tried their signature falafel, which was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside—truly some of the best I've had in Dubai.
The service was prompt and friendly, with the staff ensuring that all our needs were met. Despite being a popular spot, the restaurant managed to maintain a quick turnaround, and the food arrived piping hot. Prices are reasonable, considering the quality and portion sizes.
Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a casual dining experience with friends, Barbar is a fantastic choice. I highly recommend it for anyone who appreciates authentic Lebanese cuisine in a...
Read moreBarbar at Business Bay turned out to be a culinary letdown during our recent visit. A party of 3, we eagerly ordered a variety of items – two chicken sandwiches, two burgers, one steak, and a crispy chicken burger. However, the taste failed to live up to our expectations. The chicken had an unusual flavor, and both the burgers and steak lacked the satisfying taste we anticipated.
Despite my initial optimism, thinking that the branch might match the quality of the well-regarded place in Beirut, I couldn't help but feel disappointed. The flavors were mediocre at best, leaving me questioning the reputation associated with the Barbar name. Although the staff were friendly and accommodating, the overall dining experience didn't justify the relatively high prices.
I have to admit that I wouldn't choose to dine at Barbar again. While the service was commendable, the lack of taste of the sandwiches overshadowed any positive aspects of the visit. It's unfortunate when a restaurant with potential falls short of expectations, and in this case, the culinary experience did not align with the reputation of its...
