Not sure how to start a review on Taj Dubai whether it’s good or bad. I stayed in Taj Dubai 4 days out of my 10 days Dubai trip. My initial two hotels were awesome, and we all expected that we would move into the topmost dream hotel, but it wasn’t the same after staying there. We all can rate this Taj Dubai hotel as 3 stars instead of 5star. The hotel reception itself was not so great, the welcoming atmosphere there with dark themed colours and with many things stuffed. Guest manager Mansi was the only one who was cheerful and welcoming to the guests there. I saw many staff in suits busy walking around here and there at reception area none of them care about customers who is passing through, no one have courtesy to wish guest to say Hi/Hello and to ask about the how was guests doing and their stay.
I paid a heavy price for 4days (2Adults+2kids) which is higher than 5days cost compared to my initial 5-star Hotel stay thinking that I am going to stay in one of my own country’s proud brand hotels. Room was not as expected as per pics showed in websites, we got allocated one room with two single beds which is very congested, no proper luggage space, one bathroom with transparent glass (have curtains) which is inconvenience that too when you stay with your grown up kids 10yrs+, always need to spend 1.5hrs time to get ready in Q one by one, Bathroom was a bit old smelly type and congested too, very slippery floor when it’s get wet ( Thank God! I escaped twice from slip falling), Overall room air quality was poor with dust which I even captured pictures and videos where dust was flying inside the room, Bathrobe also very old and not as soft as 5star quality (time to replace with new ones pls). And simple logic is missing in this so called 5star hotel when family of 4 people staying in room which means they need 4 towels and all other items needed as 4 (which is paid already in room price), it seems there is no communication between Reception and Room service teams which is must for any X-Star hotels to have.
Room Fridge is one more comedy old wooden item which is also time to replace, no proper coffee/tea making enough space, Like its inside cupboard.
We all went to breakfast with huge expectations, but it turned out to be a fish market crowd at 3rd floor and then we moved to 4th floor. All breakfast items are not that tasty and not great, Indian breakfast menu items are a disaster tasting (Taj Team please get a proper South Indian chef who can cook proper breakfast), I did give feedback to one of your staff too. Its 5star Hotel menu you guys no need to make watery chutneys, watery Pongal (it was uncooked rice added), ask your chefs to know the proper proportions to make idli and dosa batters first. Even English breakfast items are also too sugar coated which even doesn’t taste as fresh as it should be.
After reading my review, People may question why I didn’t approach Taj team to solve all these but do note I was in rush with tight schedule to cover Dubai attractions on those 4days and one major problem is I didn’t see anyone was there as approachable, 3 counters at reception is always busy with other customers or chit chat within Taj Staff (noticed many times while I pass by).
I have to call-out to Taj Dubai Manager please do train and coach your staff [ Except Sardarji with long moustache (sorry didn’t noted his name) at entrance] to treat all customers as same but not go by their appearances, not by Taxi, not by Private cars, not by nationalities, regardless of race, regardless of religions. We noticed one person who only opens doors/helps others who comes in private cars, in a posh stylish look but he never helped us.
Thanks for the cake, which is provided for my kids Birthday, for the cupcake session, which they enjoyed! And also want to extend the same for considering late checkout options.
We would like to thank only Mansi, Raneesh & Sardarji at Taj Dubai but none of the others. And I personally felt like choosing this hotel was the wrong step without...
Read moreMy recent stay at Taj Dubai was a delightful journey of culinary excellence and exceptional hospitality. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the dining experiences, from the exquisite dishes at Bombay Brasserie to the convenience and comfort of in-room dining, and the expansive breakfast offerings that kick-started my days on a high note.
At Bombay Brasserie, Taj Dubai’s signature Indian restaurant, the culinary adventure was nothing short of magical. The chefs here are true maestros, crafting dishes that are a feast for the senses. Each meal was a deep dive into India’s rich culinary heritage, with modern twists that surprised and delighted. The vibrant flavors, aromatic spices, and exquisite presentation made every dinner an unforgettable experience.
The in-room dining service was equally impressive, offering a perfect blend of luxury and comfort. There is one individual I certainly want to mention is Aatif who always brought out food in room with a big smile. The menu was comprehensive, catering to a wide range of tastes and dietary needs, and each meal was delivered promptly, allowing me to savor gourmet dishes in the privacy and comfort of my room. The attention to detail, from the presentation to the quality of the food, was exemplary, making every in-room dining experience a pleasure.
Breakfast at Taj Dubai was another highlight, setting the tone for the day with its generous spread and high-quality ingredients. The variety was incredible, offering everything from local delicacies to international favorites, ensuring a delightful start to the morning. The vibrant atmosphere and attentive service made breakfast more than just a meal; it was a joyful gathering that I looked forward to each day.
The exceptional service extended beyond the dining areas. From the moment I arrived, the individuals like Harpal, working at the main entrance greeted me with warm smiles and genuine kindness, making me feel welcomed and valued. The front desk staff were professional, efficient, and always ready to assist, ensuring a smooth and pleasant check-in and check-out process. Their recommendations and attentiveness significantly enhanced my stay.
The restaurant staff, particularly at Bombay Brasserie, were outstanding. Their knowledge of the menu, attention to detail, and friendly demeanor made every dining experience memorable. They went out of their way to accommodate preferences and ensure satisfaction, truly embodying the spirit of hospitality.
In conclusion, my stay at Taj Dubai was defined by exceptional food and stellar hospitality. The culinary delights at Bombay Brasserie, the convenience of in-room dining, the lavish breakfast, and the dedication of the staff across the hotel, especially at the main entrance, front desk, and restaurant, made my visit truly special. Taj Dubai is not just a hotel; it’s an experience, one that I cannot wait to return to.
Kudos to GM Saurabh Tiwary and his team at Taj Dubai for an incredible job and making us feel like home on our Dubai trip. Being from Hospitality Industry, as I own restaurant and banquet business in New Jersey, USA, I certainly endorse Taj Dubai as best place to stay and enjoy...
Read moreI Recently stayed at the Taj Hotel. He's and honest review.
Upon arrival we was greeted with a drink and assisted with check in. To be asked if we wanted to upgrade our room, as smokers we asked for a smoking room and asked to be upgraded to the Junior suite. Once we paid for the upgrade we was later told it wasn't a smoking room. Which wasn't the end of the world because we didn't realise smoking rooms you had to smoke inside.
Junior suite (Room 1000) was very clean and spacious we was happy with the room facilities itself but there was a strange musky smell but we put this down to the air-conditioning not being own and the room was very warm upon arrival. Room was supplied with loads of bottled waters which was good which they dont charge for. However they do have mini bar but £8 for a can of soft drink is ridiculous I felt so went downstairs to the bar instead (which was about £1 Cheaper )
Thursday to Sunday the Terrace bar plays very loud music so being on the 10th floor this kept myself and my wife awake up until about 1am. I did flag this with reception they offered to move us but the only rooms available were higher up which my wife wasn't comfortable with as she is scared of heights.
Returning back to the hotel after dinning out, we went to have a drink in the hotel we sat outside on the Terrace waited nearly 30 minutes for someone to come over to be told that we will not served outside.
There is no service from Monday to Wednesday. I said to the waiter all I wanted was two diet pepsi before we head to bed. To be told again there will no service outside if I want a drink I will need to sit inside which I declined.
I didn't pay loads of money to sit inside a tent. I'm not slamming the waiter here as he is only instructed on what to say an do.
But customers should be advised before hand. The next day the manager approached me to apologise and told me to come down this evening for a drink which we did but had to sit inside for as again they wasn't serving outside. This is around 10pm in the evening by the way.
I would like to say a massive thank you as well to the three lifeguards around the pool they are so polite and they can't do enough for you. They were so delightful.
The chauffeur coordinator outside was so helpful with arranging our chauffeur every morning and evening. So a massive thank you to them as well.
The cleaners cleaned our room everyday sometimes twice a day the room was about spotless thank you.
Breakfast i rated 3 out 10. wide spread of different foods but I felt it lacked freshness and quality. We only had breakfast 3 times there and went out to CZN Burak for a Turkish breakfast on the other days.
English pub restaurants downstairs on the ground floor was 10 out of 10. Lovely cocktails and food.
I know it seems like a lot of negative comments but in all I would definitely return to the Taj. But would just do things...
