Of late, we have been too lazy to hunt for new restaurants to visit and were frequenting known places only to consume dishes that we already knew - talk about the height of laziness. But a few weeks back, we decided to explore a new place and hit upon Delhi Highway restaurant in Karama. We decided on this place due to its decent review ratings and wanted to check out new dishes as well. The ambience of the place is decent though a little out of the ordinary. The layout is such that you pass through a corridor kind of area flanked on both sides with buffet items, to visit the washrooms! In the main area a hall has been lined with tables and chairs against the walls - not the typical restaurant layout. The main attraction there is their thali with unlimited supplies of chaats, rotis, curries and south indian items such as dosas. However since we didn't have the capacity for it, we decided to go a la carte. Firstly here, our host Jagdeesh made us super comfortable and its been a pleasure being waited up on by him. He gave us valuable suggestions on the things to try out including Chaat Gaadi, multigrain paratha combo, etc, and we loved every bit of the food we had. We liked it so much that we went back the next weekend to try out a couple of other dishes. The food is very tasty and we highly recommend it. Do try out the Langarwali Dal, Channa masala (authentic taste) and pav bhaji.
Will definitely visit again as the place has been now listed among our usual-visit restaurants.
Special shout out to...
Read moreI went with my family for Iftar after seeing the online reviews. I had my doubts as soon as i parked right opposite the restaurant which was Empty Tables. Nobody was there to welcome us in. A few tables were occupied. The rest of the restaurant wore a deserted look. One waiter was serving. I told him when i called i was told you give dates and some fruits to break the fast. So he was surprised we were fasting. Then brought us 3 dates (we were 4 of us) and some nuts. He apologized and said the other staff were on day-off. The menu was brought 22 minutes later. There was no music in the restaurant, then one person switched it ON and then kept meddling with it - start-stop-start. What a mess! I didn't leave then as i thought probably the food will be fantastic as was seen in the reviews. Ordered a thali for AED 55+ VAT. The food was tasteless. Only thing which was just about okay was the paneer butter masala. The thali had gobi in it. Green in colour. It tasted horrible. Even my daughter didn't like the channa which was given with the channa batura. She ate McDonalds once we left. Wasted over AED 200 on this horrible experience. I am actually surprised with the high ratings. And will be surprised if the place survives a year given most other restaurants in Karama had ques waiting outside. Please avoid and don't waste your...

Glad that I didn’t miss this place, truly a great place for all foodies. PLEASE SAVE THIS PLACE AND APPRECIATE ME ONCE YOU TASTE THEIR FOOD.
They have a huge A La Carte menu, please try all your favorites, you will never be disappointed. Additionally, they are specialized in presenting their Royal Thali which includes, welcome drink, soup, starters, chaats, mains and desserts which is unlimited too. This Thali costs only AED55/adult and AED30/kid. I definitely give ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for this Thali
Apart from Thali, I also tried their chaat platter. I couldn’t stop eating, tastes was amazing. Definitely I give 5 Stars and more too😊
