A bit far from the metro station mashrek, but a good walk help digestion 😁. Been here twice, they have a very nice selection of Arabic Turkish sweets. They also have a variety of items for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I tried the manakish and shawarma, both delicious, but the later wasn't like in menu picture so expectation may be broken, on the other hand it came with hot french fries and onionmayo dip, that too wasn't written on the menu. The menu it's not that well explained for who never got in contact with Arabic food, cheese, spices and other stuff have name that are not translated it difficult to understand at first glance. The personal working here are kind and try to help but they are quite busy with deliveries, counter, and service at table. The shop seems well know for their delicious arabic sweet, they are made fresh daily, there are also boxed to be taken as present or souvenir. At our visit we never miss the Turkish coffee and their kunafa, is really good and fresh. What got me a little confused are the size or portion for table serving, one time we got serve like a 18-20cmx20cm divided in 4 squares and a little small piece addition at one side. It was really big and good, another time they served us a 11-12cmx10cm square of kunafa divided in 4, so as you may understand the squares and the portion where much smaller, I checked the price paid and was the same, I tried to ask why or how, but I still didn't understood what happened. Last time I been here I was a bit sad cause I saw some flies directly on top of the sweet and flying around, so I was disappointed. It's hot here in Dubai and insect like sweets and food too, but it's stronger than me, Its hard to get over it or ignore it. The price are good for the quality offered, not cheap as you may find in other restaurant or fast food a few step away, but their is surely freshly and home made, the other I tried they all look like coming out of the same pan/product bag, all round shaped, same texture and taste. Read moreFantastic knafe and sweets. Our favorite and reminds us of our experience in Nablus from where I believe Firas Sweets originates from.
Shame however on the overall management and their total disinterest in the customer. I suppose the product is what sells and it’s a great product and a growing market but it really takes little to transform a place from being very good to being superb. For example get WiFi guys and offer this to the customer. Is this really going to affect your profits. I doubt it.
I ordered a Manoushe with cheese and zaatar as shown in the menu photograph half cheese / half zaatar but recieved a cheese Manoushe with a few drops of zaatar. In general I would also recommend a complete revamp of their food menu as the quality of this is average compared to their sweets that are superb. Again it takes a good focus on the food side with a revised menu and maybe dedicated chef and am sure then the food offering will be much better.
Another thought is that the manager should be engaged and pro active. If someone asks to order and it takes 5min for the waiter to come because he is busy the manager should get out there and take the order especially when he doesn’t appear to be doing much but looking out into the space. That’s what makes a great manager and that’s what should always be strived for.
Price for knafe is also a little high to be honest.
Well done on your recent expansion and best wishes for the future.
Please now focus your effort on customer management and service so that we can all be proud of this...
Read moreReally rude guys. Please don't buy at this shop Al Barsha. Men were rude to us and were as cold as marble. It was like we were disturbing him for some reason... We ordered sweets at the first time, one of the guys were annoyed by us because we were english speakers, he almost didn't answer my wife and I. We wanted to give to the shop another chance and came back for a second time. It was an error. We met someone as rude as the first guy. We ordered coffee for breakfast. My wife gave him the money but he gave to me the payback because I was the man. This was going too far. Then, my wife and I sat at a table to drink our coffee. He didn't enjoy it and turned the TV on with a lot of sound while watching at us. What's going on guys? You can't be mean and rude to tourists and customers in general. You have to work on your hospitality and service. It is absolutely not professional. If you are the company HR, please do something or change the cashier/sales men...
