I recently dined at Mythos Urban Greek Eatery, and it was a delightful experience. Here's a breakdown of the dishes I tried and my overall impressions.
Dishes:
Fava (puréed split peas, capers, tomato, spring onion) - 7/10 A nice starter with a creamy texture and flavor, could be improved. Tzatziki (greek yogurt, cucumber, garlic, dill, olive oil) - 8.5/10 Refreshing and well-balanced, with just the right amount of garlic and dill. Charcoal Grilled Pita Bread (traditional, volcano, whole wheat) - 8.5/10 Warm, soft, and perfect for dipping. Each variety had its unique charm. Mythos Fries (feta, sea salt, oregano, paprika) - 8/10 Nice and flavorful, with the feta adding a nice touch to the dish. Cheese Saganaki (kefalograviera, tomato marmalade, lemon) - 7.5/10 Rich and gooey with a marmalade that added umami to the cheese. Keftedakia (greek-style beef & lamb meatballs, pulses salad, greek yogurt) - 7.5/10 Juicy meatballs with a good blend of spices, complemented by the sour yogurt. Fried Calamari (smoked aubergine mayo) - 8/10 Perfectly fried with a crispy exterior and tender inside, paired excellently with the side of mayo. Horiatiki (traditional greek salad, feta, tomato, cucumber, green bell pepper, onion, kalamata olives, oregano, olive oil) - 9/10 Fresh, vibrant and crunchy, with high-quality ingredients and a generous amount of feta. Lamb Pilafi (slow-cooked suckling lamb, pilafi rice, wild oregano, lemon, olive oil, kefalograviera) - 8.5/10 The lamb was tender and flavorful, and the pilafi rice was a great accompaniment. Mousaka (minced beef & lamb stew, aubergine, béchamel sauce) - 8.5/10 Rich and hearty, with layers of flavor and a perfectly creamy béchamel.
Food Quality and Presentation: Very good. Each dish was presented beautifully and tasted fresh and authentic.
Service: Very good. The staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu.
Ambiance: Excellent. The restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere with a modern touch that still pays homage to Greek culture.
Overall Impression: Mythos Urban Greek Eatery offers excellent value for money. The quality of the food, the service, and the ambiance make it a place I would definitely recommend to others. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, and there were no significant drawbacks to my experience.
I highly recommend visiting this place for an enjoyable evening and a taste of Greece right...
Read moreWent for dinner with my wife and it was our first visit to this location at city walk, and the first thing we noticed as soon as we entered the restuarant is the ultra modern, sleek, calming ambience. It was a fantastic design theme for a modern Greek resutarant. This laid back design language was enriched with vibrant colors from all the fresh produce on display which was just another great touch to add to the uniqueness and comfort of the whole feel you get when you dine in this location.
The service was opt and super friendly ... special thanks to our more than great server (Mary Anne) hope I spelled your name right :)
For our dips we ordered Tyrokafteri and Tzatziki with the charcoal grilled pita bread, which were both delicious. For the salad, we had the Horiatiki or traditional Greek salad and the smell alone says it all before you even start eating, very fresh probably organic ingredients that tasted heavenly alongside their fantastic authentic Greek feta.
We also ordered the grilled octopus (a must must must must try very soft melts in your mouth with super delicious sauce to go with it) and the fried calmary (hands down legendry and again the smell will confirm it before you start eating ... light crunchy and just fried to perfection). For the mains, we had we had the lamb chops (again some of the best I had anywhere else in the world .... perfectly cooked to your liking and soft meat that shows quality ingredient), and we also had the Jumbo Prawns (tasty and yummy but could have done without the feta cheese added to it).
Overall, I would say that this place is the best Greek spot in town, unless I come across something better and in that case I will sure let you know lol, bur for now Kudos to Mythos for keeping up the quality of their food, excellence in service at a...
Read moreAnother visit; same as the review below. Again food is good, very decent. Service is BAD! They asked us 3 times what drinks we want; there is no coordination whatsoever, and the drinks are bad. The Old Fashioned was tasteless. Beside, no salt and pepper on table. No oil and vinegar and the oil we asked for is SO BAD it’s shameful.. this is a Greek restaurant, should have Good virgin dark green olive oil not that dilute bad product they served!
Not my 1st time there.. Always surprised by the awkwardness of the entrance; you have to go around; it's just not nice and the patio is walled with plants; just a weird atmosphere. The whole layout of the restaurant, especially those few tables in the main entrance is off... The food is ok.. Another above average restaurant in Dubai lacking the WOW factor.. Everything we sampled was decent and the price is right compared to other venues in Dubai..
Service is not great.. They are pleasant but they don't know the food; it's not their fault, those guys did not grow up eating this stuff, they don't understand it, so they can only describe what they were taught period.. It's robotic and inaccurate at times.. Beside, I asked for a Gin dry martini, dash of dry vermouth only and a zest.. I get a dirty martini with 3 olives.. Even though the waiter acknowledged that he told the bartender to prepare a "very dry martini with a zest".. Then he said that a dry martini without Vermouth will be billed as 2 drinks!!!! Why? because probably one ouce does not fill the glass, but Vermouth should be a drop not an ounce (though some Martinis are 1/2 1/2) but only when the customer asks for that.... Just buy smaller cups guys!! (as they do at Cipriani; a tiny glass for a...
